Hence, events occurring in the future are unavoidable. The future is contingent and Dante’s Inferno is the key element that discusses the vital aspect of predestination.

Dante’s Inferno is a self-narrative about a dream journey of a befuddled individual, who takes a journey through the gates of hell. The narrative itself is divided into three separate parts that consist of Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise. The ghost accompanies him throughout the journey, in which he witnesses the bitter souls who have not committed good, are condemned to hell. These souls have committed great sins which emphasize the gravity of each sin. It is clear to understand that Dante paints a very gloomy picture of hell and may even attempt to address the issues that plagued his era. The idea is to portray the wrath of GOD for those who would disobey him during the Middle Ages. It was clear that during the advent of the middle ages, conditions for the poor were all-time low. This created an issue of oppression and injustice that Dante’s Inferno depicted.
