Study Project: The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli of The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli The book is a political dis written in the 16th century. The work was also one of the new works of philosophy in modernity, and the book was against the prevailing doctrines then such as scholastic as well as the catholic doctrine. A work of literature is in the Italian language rather than in Latin, was the norm (Machiavelli, 2010). The work takes into its wings various themes. The following essay articulates the various thematic issues and provides concise explanations on the same.

The author discusses the role of a prince in leadership and their particular regions that they should rule. There are two types of rules; hereditary and personal creations (Moore & Public Relations History, 2012). The author also terms hereditary leadership as a state that is simple to rule since subjects tend to accept the fact that a particular prince is their ruler if it is hereditary (Miller, 2010). The author however tends to focus more on a leader who establishes his rule, unlike the norm.

The author also illustrates the people under a prince’s rule into classes of pure princedoms and the other one as mixed princedoms. The mixed princedoms according to the author are new regions of rule whereby they were never in existence in the past or are new segments that join an already existing territory (Benner, 2013). The fact may be as a matter of conquest whereby incorporation of the kingdoms may involve dependence on the rules for directions of ruling or may have their laws.Likewise, the author establishes various circumstances that lead to conquests.

One of the ways is the conquest by virtue. The point expresses a scenario where a prince excels because of their qualifications in terms of skills and resources. The other is conquest by luck. Power is made possible through the virtues of someone else skills and qualities rather than the one who occupies the post of power. The other conquest is courtesy of criminal activity. Acquisition of power is through unlawful and corrupt deeds (Machiavelli, 2012).References Machiavelli, N. (2010). The Prince: The original classic.
