These religions are waging war with each other as if these religions were stranger from each other but in fact they were founded on the same soil and shared several prayer sites. Prophet Muhammad prayed at the same mosque at Al Aqsa Mosque which is also a Holy place for the Jews as the Temple of the Mount.
Christians, Muslims and Jews are Abrahamic religions and they are being called such because their faith are based on a Sacred Writing which explains why they are also called as the “People of the Book” (www. Lubar Institute, 2014). Their Holy Writings may say that their God is the one true God being a monotheistic religion but really, their religions intersect in many ways. They may call their God as Jesus Christ for the Christians, Yahweh for the Jews and Allah for the Muslim. It is important to note that Christians sometimes interchange the name of God to Yahweh and acknowledges the Torah which is part of their Holy Bible. Muslim’s Holy Quran also mentions Jesus Christ as one of its prophet and even Mary and several characters of the Holy Bible is present there. Daodejing on the other hand is separate and apart from these organized religions because it teaches more a way of life coming from the teaching of Laozi/Lao Tzu more than offering any “salvation” due to the belief of a certain God.
Abrahamic religions may have a lot of similarities but they are still in conflict with each other. I think the root of these conflict is not because their religions hate other religions but because of the human interpretation and application of these belief systems. Taken to the extreme, the Jews believe that they are the “chosen people of God”, the Muslims believe that anyone whose faith is outside the house of Islam is considered an infidel or profane while Christians also believe that the only path to salvation is through Jesus Christ for no one can go to
