?Strategic Rationale, Masters Objectivity and Self Analysis  The beginning of my Masters Degree at UWBS was based on the understanding that I needed to further specific skills to advance within my career field. There was knowledge that without the right basis and knowledge, there would be the inability to create the right approach to my future and the desires I had for the goals which were needed. The decision which was made was involved specifically by my own decisions and rationale for furthering my career. However, I also spoke with family, friends and members of my current work environment to understand how the degree would assist me with furthering my career and the desires I had to fulfill specific roles. The influence came from the observation that without furthering my education, there wouldn’t be the ability to advance in any career field or set the pace for the desires which I had and the goals which were set into place for my future. The rationale and objectivity for studying the Masters Degree and positioning this into longer term strategies began with overall goals which I had toward a career field and the skills required for movement further forward in my desired area of knowledge. The main approach was to gain business knowledge that was associated with the degree and the associations which related to this. My long term goals were based on business development and moving forward within a career and workspace. There was an understanding that this couldn’t be done without the proper business knowledge. After beginning to study, the personal and career ambitions began to change with personal needs that required altering for my desired field. The personal and career ambitions that were developed were based on gaining business knowledge for a future career. The new expectations which I have are now based on advancing into managerial and high – end executive positions based on my own skills and desires. I believe that the success factors and career ambitions which I now hold are based on beginning to move into the practical applications of the knowledge which I have gained and to continue to practice each of the skills to advance within the career field. The more in which I can gain insight and practical applications to the knowledge from the Masters Degree, the easier it will be to move into the higher positions that are a part of the business field of my choice. Strategic Analysis of your Masters Abilities  The ability to perform with a future international business is one which is dependent on both personal and interpersonal skills. There are a variety of expectations that are a part of functioning with a multinational business, including time management, organization, research, critical thinking, writing and communicating with others. Each of these skills alters the ability to work within different fields and allow an individual to propel forward with their career (Davies, 2011: 51). I found that, while I had the ability to have a strong personality and desire for a future with an international business, most of the basic skills were not allowing me to move forward with specific needs. The need to move into stronger communication and management skills is the main focus which I have found that I need to focus on. The academic and intellectual business knowledge that is combined with the personal Mastership objectives is based on furthering the skills which I did not have when beginning the Masters program. This concept moves into in – depth practices that I have learned, specifically with communication. The basis begins with writing skills that are associated with the academic knowledge needed. This combines with skills that pertain to listening, responding appropriately and communicating in the proper manner. The interviewing and questioning that is associated with this combines with the ability to work in teams and to have better academic and intellectual understanding of organization and concepts such as IT skills. Developing these and continuing to practice with different needs provides a deeper understanding of what is needed to work into an international organization and to highlight skills needed to move forward in a career (Davies, Bailey, 2006: 31). The behavior and attitude which I continue to carry with the academic and intellectual business knowledge is the main strength which I have. I understand that perseverance, motivation and continuous work ethic will help in developing the necessary skills while working toward a sense of success. Communications and Assessment One  The knowledge which I have now about business and development of a career would lead me to a different approach to learning communication. If I would have started earlier in my career with learning organization, management and communication skills, than it would have altered my advancement in a career. However, I can approach future assessment tasks by continuing to develop communication skills and other applications within the field of business. The key areas that the feedback assisted with improvement of Master abilities was to help me look at the main areas where I needed to focus and assess my weaknesses. Before assessing these skills, I held a belief that I already had the necessary requirements for business management and only needed academic knowledge. However, I now recognize that personal development and concepts with communication would provide a different approach to the ability I have to create better skills for future endeavors. Working in Teams The individual skills and team work combine together to create more effectiveness with being able to move in international business. A key area that is now a part of international business is with the ability to establish team skills with communication and leadership. Developing the right charisma, communication skills, and a sense of leadership are the main ways that I have realized I need to work more effectively as a team member. My understanding is not only based on the teamwork that is created through communication and leadership. There is also realization that learning the practical skills, such as IT, organizational management and other concepts are related directly to working in teams. Without this proper knowledge, there is the inability to be effective with the teams that I am working with, causing a lack in communication and leadership (Thomas, Fernandez, Manjon, 2009: 517). The importance of teamwork then becomes based on how effective I am within the work space and how this pertains to my effectiveness in individual leadership. The concept of theories with teamwork is as important with the evaluation and knowledge which are a part of the university study as it relates to practical situations. For instance, transformation which occurs in the business is one which begins to gain understanding through the university context. Communication follows this with relationships that are built in schools. Cultural development, professional communication and different levels of leadership are some of the theories which apply to teamwork within study. However, these become important in terms of developing a work environment, leadership skills and transformational leadership skills that are used within the international business environment. The more in which one can adapt to the diversity and communication in skills, the more effective they will become in the real time context (Sparks, 2006: 31). Developing Academic and Scholarship Abilities The academic and scholarship guidance have helped in the understanding of research and what is needed to develop a deeper understanding and knowledge toward different topics. Without this basis, there is the inability to develop competency in both research and the ability to communicate and analyze findings from other researchers. The tools not only included the ability to develop research resources and tools for being able to search. This continued with communicating specific messages, organizing tools and creating a different approach to writing and communication with the research that was used. The modules developed have created the ability to assist with a variety of skills, ranging from organizing ideas to management of resources and personal development necessary for discipline and development. This is furthered with understanding guidelines and rules that are associated with this. Masters Learning Personal Reflections With this module, I have developed an understanding of both my strengths and weaknesses in terms of career development. These are outlined in the SWOT chart below.
