Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada Increase intransit ridership is an ongoing concern for most of the developed countries and transport policy makers. Transport development is put in to practice by the regional transport Commission of southern Nevada. The commission, comprises of 12 members from representing local governments, federal sates, metropolitan planning organizations, transport related agencies, and public related organizations.

The commission works not only to examine the conditions and future needs of the transport system, but also short and long term alternatives to supplement fuel tax as the principal way to support the development of high ways. Transportation planning is very important; as it helps reduce congestion, offers members of the county short commuting time, reduces fuel consumption thus, reducing air pollution. In the long run, transportation has been attributed for its ability to perk up people’s safety.

The regional transportation commission of Southern Nevada is a transportation planning agency and transit authority. As the region population increases, so does the rate of traffics increase also occurs. The commissions’ role is to identify the challenges that affect traffic so as to provide long and short term resolutions. The main goals of this commission are to update and implement transportation systems that do not pollute the environment. This paper conducts a diagnosis of the regional transportation commission of Southern Nevada.

The commission conducts research and implements possible solutions to traffic challenges in the region. The commission also identifies transit maps and includes the in all geographical information. The commission is in charge of funding and improving various systems and routes within the region. Lastly the commission plays the role of informing the public about various developments of the system. The commission is in charge of providing public transport in Clark county of Nevada. All the services of this commission are operated on a contract basis with private operated companies.

The commission also provides senior transits and paratransit servicers. The human resource of regional transportation commission focuses on individual transportation plan, when planning the human resources departments looks at individual differences since the community consists of different individuals. Apart from offering transit services the commission is in charge of overseeing the planning process of Southern Nevada. These roles are designated under the metropolitan planning organization under this section the commission seeks the public opinion on 2009 -2030 regional transport plan, and 2010-2014 regional transport improvements.

Within the commission, the current amendments cover the changes that range from development to approval of transportation improvement. These reflections do reflect the delay of implementation of some major projects. In order, to gain a productive cooperative transportation, the commission has to keep on pooling for transportation in the region. Transportation improvement program is a document that illustrates the entire program that needs to be improved by the commission. The current program covers a fiscal year of 2011-2014, and this was approved by the commission indicating the process of commission’s development.

Before the transportation, projects are set for funding and implementation. The commission conducts planning studies to determine the better option that can be used and which is more appropriate for implementation. The commission puts up a list of all completed projects in the united planned program records. The commission performs the role of creating a sustainable community. That considers all the transport types and the health of community members. These include biking, transport, carpooling and pedestrians walking.

These alternatives means of transport have been noted by the commission as a better way of reducing congestion in towns. The RTC staff members conduct research that can be used to improve on the rate of population, air pollution reduction, and provision of funds especially for developments. The analyzed data is placed on a travel demand model that, that is used to determine future traffic demands in the region. The model is also used to determine if future road ways are suitable for the community members.

The commission has also developed a transit gold line that connects downtown Las Vegas and Les Vegas. The commission does provide commuter services to members of the community within the town centre. It is patent from the case study that the commission has human resources that lead to development and that the organization allows the HR to seat and develop different innovations that can give room for developments. These strategies do have some impact on the organization leading to the development.

Consequently, the commission is effective in the provision of its transit and development services. Nevada transport system has been a major tool to the county development by providing transport for residents and business owners as well as visitors visiting the area. The road system is still the backbone of Nevada economic development. The transport commission has helped in providing support for quality life in the area, and made transit services easier for the members. To achieve a dynamic and economic growth, Nevada has to initiate several projects that can be used to improve the road system to increase read access by all members.

The commission should continue ensuring that all public transport services are provided without and difficulty. They should also encourage paratransit services to all members as this does reduce congestions in traffics. They should emphasize on mobility training of disabled people on how to use transit.
