 As a leader of your group (Weick 1993), what are some of the qualities you deem right to hold in order to assist your group to overcome risks to problem-solving and decision-making processes?

It is apparent that according to Janis (1973, 1982), working in groups can lead to erroneous decisions, especially when group members are required to hold their views and conform to those of the group even when group views may be unwise. How can such a situation be avoided?

According to the incident that occurred in your work concerning the merger of 2 sub-group units, where the group managers decided to push for this decision without consulting other stakeholders, but the decision failed, do you see any issue of leadership style in this scenario? What would you advocate for?

It is apparent that the oil industry is one fraught with risks and uncertainties. During the decision making process, there are opportunities to go against the group norms and groupthink. In this regard, how would you address such situations?

What are the potentials of groupthink in terms of helping you address your identified CAL problems?
