Questions Q The “Obscene Watermark” crisis is eliciting mixed reactions in Michael Scott’s company. Although the crisis is critical to the performance of the company, Michael Scott mishandles the crisis. This is evidenced by the mistakes he makes in the presence of the entire workforce. Michael Scott is not respectful to the other employees that work for the company. He expresses his authority by bossing other people in the room while stepping on the table. He does not listen or accord any respect to the opinions of his co-workers.

Michael Scott also switches roles, duties, and responsibilities among workers without due regard to the positions they hold in the company. In so doing, he further complicates the crisis.Q.2In their leadership, Scott and Krantz are tolerant, democratic, result-oriented, accommodative, purposeful, and committed. They understand that the issue at hand needs to be resolved. When it comes to effective crisis management, persistence to success is an important personal characteristic. Persistence is even more valuable when it is complemented by collaborative efforts between the parties involved.

On the other hand, the worst characteristic is personal self-sufficiency in times of crisis.Q.3Personally, I have faced a work crisis where workers were boycotting their duties and responsibilities to push for more organization-based benefits from the management. The worker-management platform of crisis resolution was violated, prompting me to remind my colleagues the formal process of filing complaints. I convinced all the workers to resume their duties and file complaints about such benefits using the process that the company recognized.

My action was effective because any violation of the crisis resolution process could have resulted in contract termination for the boycott’s ring leaders.
