Emirates airline has been able to open flights in major countries like the United States of America and Britain. The airline has also succeeded in creating employment opportunities despite the economical downfalls facing the world. Emirates Airline, however, has experienced problems such as escalating fuel prices, aero-politics, and air traffic control rules, which have hampered its global growth. The company’s management has been active in finding solution to counteract the ramifications associated with these restrictions by applying the problem solving procedure to identify and provide solutions to the current problem. Problem Solving Emirates Airline is one of the most reputable companies in the world that have experienced success. The government of Dubai, which is part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) owns and controls the Emirates Airlines (Ibrahim, 2005). Traffic control for airlines is one major problem affecting Emirates Airline. It is necessary for air travelling has to be strictly controlled and properly managed for effective service provision (Michael, 2010). There are countries that restrict other airlines from accessing their air space. The reason for this would be to avoid cases of insecurity and reduce congestion in their airspace. Emirates Airline is one of the airline companies facing a similar problem. Canada, for example, has denied Emirates Airline access into its airports. There is need to come up with an urgent solution in order to deal with traffic control issues, which if not solved will lead to huge losses being incurred (Nawal, 2010). The first step in dealing with this issue is to identify reasons for a restriction placed on the Emirates Airline. This will help in tracing the root causes to the problem, which is vital in finding proper solutions to handle the issue. The second step is identifying policies within that country that regulate air control. Air control policies help in regulating the way airlines work in that specific country (John, 2010). A legal approach that identifies policies and guidelines would be necessary in identifying the cause of the problem. The approach will also help in gaining meaningful information that will help in gathering data that is correct and reliable. It will help in collecting data that will help in identifying and solving the problem at hand. Decision Making There is a solution to every problem that is identified, implying that a solution to traffic control issues can be found. However, it is challenging to fully deal with traffic control issues, as they require commitment from the government. The central governments of the two countries in must intervene if an amicable solution has to be found. The cases where the government is involved take long periods of time due to widespread bureaucracies in the process. However, in the long-run the solution will be found especially if the right procedures and mechanisms are followed. The foreign affairs ministry can intervene by persuading countries with restrictions to wave off the restrictions. The airline, thus, requires a government intervention that will help in convincing countries such as Canada to allow the airline have access to its airports. It is the duty of countries to help their citizens in foreign matters. The airline is owned by the government of Dubai, which means that a government intervention would provide enough help in gaining access to restricted air spaces. The airline should also increase its resources and efforts towards strategies that would help in marketing itself abroad or globally (Alan, 2006). Marketing is a tool that companies use to sell their agenda. The airline should embark on extensive marketing strategies that will help in persuading other countries to wave off the restrictions. Marketing can help in creating awareness among potential customers who can then pressure their governments to wave off restrictions. The company can improve its marketing plans in order to have a competitive edge over its competitors (Alan, 2006). A competitive edge creates a positive impact that may help the company in opening flights all over the world. Emirates Airline should aim at being the best airline in the world, which is a solution to traffic control issues since it will be able to influence countries that have restricted its flights. Any business venture that does not invest heavily on marketing finds itself amid challenges caused by reduced market demand, lack of recognition and negative attitudes towards the company. Persuasion is a tool for communication that can be used in solving traffic control issues. Persuasion is used to induce, entice, urge and convince an audience. An amicable solution to the problem of air traffic issues can be found by invoking the tools of persuasion, which are logos, pathos and ethos (Richard, 2008). Logos involves the use of logic when persuading someone. The airline, thus, should use an appeal that is logic based in order to have restrictions waved off. An appeal that is emotion based would also help in finding an amicable solution. Ethos involves the use of an appeal that is based on reputation. Emirate Airline is a reputable company that has built a successful brand. It would be, thus, easy to entice countries that have strict traffic control rules into considering them. Integrity and believability are strong tools that can be used to convince and entice (Svend, 2008). Through this, Emirates Airline will have an opportunity to prove to the governments that restrict its operation on their airspace that it does not intend to pose any security threats. Emirates Airline has been in existence since the year 1985, which means that it is a well known and established brand (Richard, 2008). The best solution, however, is to involve the government through the department of foreign affairs. A government-to-government persuasion would be the best solution since it would be easy to persuade countries with air traffic restrictions. The foreign affairs department would help in providing a strong argument for the company. The airline needs to come up with a plan that would provide an effective backing to the solution given. The best plan would be empowering a delegation that would accompany officials from the foreign department. The delegation would be empowered with the necessary documents that will support counter arguments and help in persuasion. The delegates would also be empowered with the necessary information that would be required. The delegation should consist of experts and people who are influential, well known and have professional connections all over the world (Alan, 2006). A powerful delegation would be able to make a strong argument that would help the airline acquire the right to land in a restricted zone. A strong delegation provides the best plan that would help in implementing the recommendations given. Emirates Airline belongs to the government of Dubai, thus, providing an easy avenue in implementing the plan (Vijay, 2012). Conclusion Emirates Airline is one of the outstanding companies that continue to grow, both in performance and in profitability. The company’s growth can be attributed to the policies and strategies that the management has put adopted and implemented to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in its operations. The company has employed Strategies that have enabled it to withstand problems that it encounters (Alan, 2006). There are teething problems that affect Emirates Airline. The worst problem that has been identified is the air control travel, which limits the company from accessing the airspace of certain countries.
