Nokia is a leader in the fields of network infrastructure, location-based technologies and advanced technologies (Nokia, 2013). 3.0 The DealThere was a deal which was completed in April 25th 2014 where Microsoft and the Nokia Devices and Services business are coming together as one to deliver a family of devices and services that will delight consumers and empower businesses. The acquisition has been approved by Nokia shareholders and by governmental regulatory agencies around the world. The completion of the acquisition marks the first step in bringing these two organizations together as one team (Microsoft, 2014).

Where do Nokia and Microsoft go from here? Since the deal was first announced last September, it was evident that this was a win-win situation for both sides. Nokia can get on with growing its solutions and networks division without the albatross of its money-losing mobile phone unit around its neck (fool.com, 2014).For Microsoft, a late transition to the 21st century will be realized in the next couple of days. Its about time. The completion of the Nokia Devices and Services business acquisition April 25 will enable Microsoft to accelerate its share of smart phones and feature phones in developed and emerging markets, and increase its role as a devices and services company.

(Local news now, 2014). Microsoft will target the affordable mobile devices market, a $50 billion annual opportunity, delivering the first mobile experience to the next billion people while introducing Microsoft services to new customers around the world (Microsoft, 2014).  Microsoft will continue to deliver new value and opportunity, and it will work closely with a range of hardware partners, developers, operators, distributors and retailers, providing platforms, tools, applications and services that enable them to make exceptional devices.

With a deeper understanding of hardware and software working as one, the company will strengthen and grow demand for Windows devices overall (marketwatch, 2014). 4.0 ProjectionsIndustry watchers thought it was a "win-win solution" for both of the enterprises. "Microsoft has always been trying to expand its mobile Internet market, and Nokia, whose manufacturing technology for handsets is advanced, urgently needs to look for a savior," Cao Yujie, director of consultants for IT market research agency CCW Research, told the Global Times.

Forgoing the manufacturing operations in South Korea, and likely doing the same in India, will have an impact. Based on little to no stock price movements of Microsoft and Nokia in the last couple days, investors appear to be relieved more than excited (fool.com, 2014). Analysts argue that this will not affect prices in short term since mobile phone market is undergoing a period of integration (globaltimes, 2014). Already from our data used to plot the stock movements, the prices of Microsoft have gone up and the volume has also surged.

The Nokia stock prices have decreased and also the stock volumes have decreased slightly (nasdaq, 2014).Referencesfool.com. 2014. fool.com/investing/general/2014/04/23.[Online].
