Task Attending a casino event is one of my new experiences since my religion does not allow attendance of such places. As one of the aspects, that defines my transition from the normal way of perceiving and handling situations, I find the Casino experience an alternative in handling situations in both local and foreign cultures. This essay seeks to examine my experience in terms of skills acquired during the Casino tour, particularly the aspect of decision making through gambling-type problems. As a point of departure, the gambling type of making decisions is a common phenomenon amongst the psychologist, particularly those concerned with comprehending the gambling behaviour and problem. The decision maker’s cognitive process forms the basis of explanation on the choices of the subjects. Critics on these methods cite inherence of limitations attributed to the failure to investigate real world decision milieus. My concentration will be on the decision making of the blackjack players relative to the role of experience, customs, beliefs and socio-cultural context in decision making during gambling. I learnt that the term beliefs is used to imply the semantic content of the gambling players’ propositional beliefs that concerns the organization and dynamics of the games played within the casino milieu and the relevant strategies that can be applied to play them (Audretsch, David and Bonser, 1039). In essence, the player’s beliefs have immense strength in determining the outcome of the game upon applying a certain strategy. This aspect is fundamental for me, because I can be able to study and accommodate diverse beliefs of people be either the locals or foreigners. The Casino experience on this aspect is critical in my “out of comfort zone” event. Understanding the diverse in beliefs of human race is an essential aspect in making decisions of real life experiences. In essence, comprehending diversity of beliefs is mind opener for numerous psychologists in their day-to-day decision-making (Audretsch, et al, 1043). On equal measure, the aspect of learning and experience in the context of a gambling activity implies to the distinctive subjective experience, which is attributed to the blackjack players as the fundamental development in terms of strategy and belief within the casino milieu. This learning experience may enshrine the dynamism that happen over time within the individuals and the blackjack playing associations (Audretsch, et al, 1043). In essence, it is a progressive trend realized by players over time within the casino environment. This follows that, learning is an ongoing process and I can borrow from the casino experience that my decision making experience may change over time as long as I expose myself to decision making situations involving diverse cultural set ups. Since globalization is real and with the ever-progressive technological trend, that we experience today, multiculturalism becomes part of us and embracing it defines the human race as accommodative (Audretsch, et al, 1044). This implies that the diversity in decision making from the casino experience will be fundamental in managing affairs of any international company because of the already developed sense of cultural diversity. A successful manager in an international company must comprehend all the tenets of the diversity of his/her employees. This knowledge is critical in making sensitive decisions concerning the employee’s status, input and the organization in general. The socio-cultural context in the casino gambling game refers to the milieu in which decisions are made which include the organization and the changes of the gambling milieu, and the customs and values shared within the gambling society, which provides a platform for the blackjack players to learn their dexterity (Audretsch, et al, 1047). In addition, the organization and changes of the gambling milieu implies the physical plan of the blackjack and the casino in general. This design enshrines the norms and rules of the game and the interaction pattern of these attributes in creating the dynamic experience of gaming blackjack. This knowledge is critical for a manager in a multinational company where dynamism is a prominent feature. It helps in making sound decisions that may affect the company positively. The globalization trend is a critical component that is evident in numerous international organizations, which is attributed to the differences among beliefs and customs. The same way players in gambling differ in terms of their strategic thinking and approaches is the same way international organization experience diversity and this requires all round managers to produce positive results. As a future manager, the gambling experience, as taught me to appreciate people from of occupations and try to understand their beliefs. Talking about the inflexibilities’ of my Arabic religion, I find the casino experience a mind opener and the beginning of a long journey of appreciating diversity of any kind in diverse situations. The gambling experience puts me in a strategic position to realize my potential in terms of managerial skills, which have been operating in a limited platform (Audretsch, et al, 1049). I come out of this experience a changed mind with immense aspirations to make sound decisions in any leadership capacity I may find myself. However, I would have wished to see the outcome of my decision-making in a multicultural organization. I believe the outcome will be positive. The pathological gambling behaviour developed from a gambling experience is fundamental in making wise judgements. This behaviour is widely attributed to the popular game called the blackjack. The black jack players apply sophisticated strategies in this game, which sees them win. A closer analysis of these strategies reveals that there is an immense linkage between the player’s values with those of the competitors within the definition of the gambling milieu (Audretsch, et al, 1049). On a similar regard, psychologists have inclined to the use of the gambling-kind of problems to solve the real world issues because gambles have been seen as attributed to similar significant features in all decisions. The gambling decision-making aspect has been embraced because of its straightforwardness in testing the Subjective Expected Utility’s assumptions. This follows that, the application of the casino experience at the managerial level will turn out to be fascinating, particularly when one succeeds in bridging the diversity of the organization’s employees. The element of creativity exercised by the black jack players during gambling in making decision that will realize a win is fundamental in the managerial process. Take an example of the numerous rules that govern the players, the numerous operations such as hitting, standing, double downing and splitting among others that players may engage in during the game reflects the numerous tenets a manger in a multicultural organization seeks to understand and considering when making a decision. In conclusion, the casino experience is a game changer to new managers as well as the experienced ones. It is realizable that the dynamic application of the gaming theory relative to the gambling rules, particularly the blackjack is a real reflection of the dynamic trends in globalization and technology which from the foundation of management in nay multinational company. I attest that, the casino experience has opened my eyes beyond the precincts of my Arabic religion. I believe I am able to apply the various management tenets such as working as a team for the common goals of an organization, listening to my instincts before making a judgment on an issue, correcting my mistakes where possible, making proper communication and delivering feedbacks at the appropriate time. However, linking multicultural diversity with individual potentiality forms the most fundamental aspect from this experience. I now remain focused to managing an international company hoping my experience integrated with the day-day technological and globalization trends will see me at the top of the managerial helm. The casino experience therefore makes represents my turning point from a fixed mind based on religious beliefs to a more open and focused perspective on international management.
