Leadership Perspectives al Affiliation: Leadership Perspectives Introduction Leadership plays an important in organizations as it is the basis of its success or failure. The term leadership has a number of definitions, but I believe there are five words that can be used to describe leadership in an organization. To start with, leadership is adventurous. It provides an individual with an opportunity to explore and learn from different areas that are of importance to him or her, depending on the line of profession. It is always an interesting adventure as one faces a lot of challenges and makes a lot of mistakes that he or she learns from them. Secondly, a leadership is defined by the level of ensuring cooperativeness between all the stakeholders involved. A good example could be that of Steve Jobs, who worked with Woz to start the Apple Company in his parent’s garage. Later, the company grew to become one of the world’s largest companies. Thirdly, a leader must be courageous and learn how to deal with challenges as they come. Further, a leader must be dedicated and willing to lead the company or the organization into greater heights. The world is changing due to evolution in all areas especially in the areas of technology. Therefore, a leader must be willing to drive his company through all these areas and deliver the best to all its clients. Finally, a leader must be creative in all aspects f management in the organization. This gives a company a competitive edge against its rivals in the global market. Body From our case study, Fujio Cho who is the leader of the Toyota Motor Corporation displays the true aspects of a leader in different ways. His unique leadership has enabled the company to conquer the international market. He has a total understanding of globalization that includes the needs of their clients in the global market. Through his able management, he has enabled the company to assess and determine the needs of the clients in the global market. For any leader to succeed in the global market, he or she must adopt the concepts of both localization and globalization. According to most analysts in this field, this is the most challenging issue faced by leaders all over the world. A global leader must and needs to fulfill these two perspectives on the business environments. A leader must also demonstrate a successful plan in the area of business development. This is achieved by clearly understanding the important values of the company and later developing strategies that will be used to achieve them in the cross-culture environment. In this case, Fujio developed a portfolio strategy that aimed at expanding its operations in different and more foreign companies. This is evident as the company established a manufacturing site in the United States of America which is a global super power. This gave the company a competitive against its rivals in the international market. From this perspective, the company was able to solve different cost issues as production was conducted on a local basis. Further, the company hired its employees from the local environment that ensured interactions with the cross-cultural environment. Additionally, his ability to communicate with all his employees enabled the employees in his company to deliver correctly and accurately. Also, as the leader of the company, he encourages corporation training in order to create a better understanding of the culture of the organization. His style of leadership inspires most people in the international market. From this case study, we can clearly see and understand different aspects and perspectives of leadership and their importance in the management of the company. Therefore, we will explore different measures of leadership and their efficiency in the international market. In my opinion, leadership can be measured by its qualities. A leader must have a mission that drives the company and also inspire other leaders and employees to join him or her in order to make it achievable (Schruijer & Vansina, 1999). He should commit himself and develop strategies to achieve the goals. Secondly, a leader must create strong organizations. He must fully understand the mission of the company as well as the structure of the company. A good leader should also be a good motivator for his employees in the company. This gives them the motivation and the ability to commit themselves to achieving the goals and the objectives of the company (Schruijer & Vansina, 1999). Leadership efficiency can be considered in diverse ways. Subjective realm is a measure that enables the analysts to assess and determine the overall morale of the employees of a company. A leader plays an important role in influencing the morale of the employees. This is by providing them with the means of dealing with challenges as well as encouraging their active participation in the activities of the company (Schruijer & Vansina, 1999). Secondly, it can be measured through the implementation of the leadership index. In this case, leaders are evaluated on the basis of their skills, behaviors and attitudes. Also, their potential is also assessed, in this case. The performance of leaders can be measured in different ways. Through the job design, a manager can create a criterion for selection of new employees. Further, as a leader, he will ensure that people perform their roles and responsibilities on time. Also, he ensures competence of the work practices. Finally, he can assess the reward and incentives structures of the company to ensure that all employees are compensated in the right way. Conclusion From our case study, Fujio has contributed factually in the performance of the organization. He clearly and adequately understands the mission and goals of the company. Further, he works hard to ensure that his company adopts both localization and global perspectives in order to exploit them fully. Through his unique style of leadership, he can inspire many more leaders in the international market. Finally, my opinion in assignment one has been able to change the performance of the leaders in organization. This is seen as they were able to evaluate the different types of leadership and settle for the best according to the business environment. Reference Schruijer, S & Vansina, L. (1999).
