My main goals for this semester include; working smart to pass the end of semester exams with HD and thus receive the bonus from my sponsor, making new friends and finally, gaining the much needed social exposure and experience. The scope of this report is to explain and assess how I will manage my time so as to facilitate the timely submission of the relevant assignments that are expected in this semester. Additionally, the total cost for semester one will amount to $27,288. This will be financed by the Kuwait government, who is my main sponsor as a result of the educational scholarship that they gave to me. Moreover, my parents will also assist me by paying for my monthly rent as well as providing the necessary support during my time in Bathurst. The relevant plan and total cost of the projects assessment relating to this course was facilitated by Microsoft Project 2013. Specifically, Microsoft Project 2013 facilitated the incorporation of a Gantt chart, recourses sheets as well as the relevant cash flow sheets that depict exactly the total costs for this course during semester one. Introduction to my study plan The introduction to the study plan at SCU will mainly assess and discuss the main project goals, assumptions of the project, the main project’s scope as well as an analysis of the relevant stakeholders that are critical in the attainment of the overall goal of the project. There is a need to communicate the project, for it is critical (Kloppenborg T, 2012). Therefore the management aspect of it is necessary. Stakeholder management is critical to project success (Reeder, 2013). Considering that there is a management aspect of it, the inclusion of goals is necessary. Goals are important to projects (Mashman, 2013). The reason why they are important is because they serve as the point by which the management should achieve. Goals are necessary because they could stand as guiding points to somewhere the management wants to situate itself both in the short and long-term run. Goals could be the indicators of the success of the organization, because at the end of every project, these are the ones that the management could evaluate. The assessment requires understanding if the goals were achieved or taken into account as accomplishment. For this reason, it is important to understand the fact that project communication is necessary, because it is truly vital to the success of the achievement of goals. If something is not well communicated, it is for this reason that at some point its fate towards success has already been partially determined. For this reason, the management aspect of the project is critical consideration to stakeholders. They are the ones who are determined to observe or monitor the progress of the project. It matters to them whatever accomplishment there might be in the entire project, because they look forward to the success or accomplishment of it. Project Priority Matrix: Time is a precious commodity in the project. Time is a resource, because it has to be consumed. However, in the case of the project success, it has to be properly monitored. If it is not fully taken into account, it might substantially determine the amount of cost that might have to be lost in the process. My sponsor believes that understanding things about the time constraints can increase the efficiency and help achieve the goal and scope of the project. Any things that are beyond control like the changing of cost would be acceptable knowing the fact that the sponsor is aware about the variability of cost in each semester. Cost might be changed each semester. Time Scope Cost Constrain X X Enhance Accept X Goals of the project: The main goals pertaining to this semester is to pass the end of semester exams with HD. Additionally, I would also wish to make new friends, gain much social experience as well as discover the life in Bathurst. In this case, any Kuwait student who obtains a score of 3HDs in any course during the end of semester exams will be rewarded $5,300 in bonuses by the Kuwait government at the end of the year. These results will be revealed to the students after their graduation. Specifically, any student who obtains a pass score of 3HDs increases his/her chances of securing high level executive jobs as well as gaining promotion with respect to their current employment. This normally translates into obtaining high salary jobs. Scope: In this case, the first semester began on 27th February 2015, where the students were mainly doing the on campus room applications. Afterwards, the students’ subjects’ enrolment took place on 2nd May 2015. The implication is that all the relevant course papers for the semester were expected to be prepared within 7 days after the students were done with enrolling for the subjects. Assumptions: The main assumptions that relate to this project include; the expectation that I understand each subject proficiently as well as the fact that I am always prepared for each end of semester exams and the respective assignments, which should be completed within the assigned timeline. Finally, I am also expected to pay my monthly rent on time and without delay. Project Introduction In this project I arranged the task starting with the date by which the University opens the applications for on-campus accommodation to the last date or the day when the final examinations are going to be held. Prior to this, the enrolment of the subjects such as MGT290, MGT310, INR210 and MGT367 must have to take place first. After this, the time should also be spent in the assessment and compliance of the requirements with their respective due dates. With this, I can help myself for the preparation of the assignments and having time to discover Bathurst. I also arranged how much I should approximately need from my second sponsors (my parents). I called this section a salary for each month. I will spend around $2000 over in one semester for the total of $6000. The accommodation fee that should be covered in one semester is $3528. The reason why I arranged things this way is due to the fact that it is necessary that the project’s tasks should be completed one after the other. There are certain tasks that need to be complied first prior to the accomplishment of the preceding tasks. It matters to plan the activity first. Next to this, the substantial consideration of costs and spending in order to pursue the activities involved in the project is necessary. The project cannot go on without the vital consideration of the costs that are necessary for consideration in order to implement it. Support detail Gantt chart was very useful for planning and scheduling my project. It helped me to assess how long a project should take, determine the resources needed, and plan the order in which I will complete tasks. It’s also helpful for managing the dependencies between tasks. Resources Utilised The recourses sheet below shows the equipment that will perform in my project and the cost for each of it. Stakeholder Management Stakeholder Mission Strengths Weaknesses Stakeholder Strategy Behaviours Action Plan Kuwait government To ensure the goal of passing the subject has been achieved Their role will be to finance my course project and support me in case of any urgent problem that occurs during my study. They are normally closed on weekends and holidays as well as the fact that they have strict limited working hours. This may prove to be difficult to contact them especially when there is an urgent issue. They normally check on my progress by looking at my assignments after every month. Send email or warning if I didn’t pass the subjects. Make sure I pass the subjects and show them that I deserve this scholarship. Parents To ensure that I have enough money to enjoy my study time in Australia as well as check on how I am fairing with respect to my general safety. Strong financial support in addition to the ability to contact them 24/7 through mobile phone and social media. They are far away from Australia They generally make sure that I am comfortable with my life and studies in Australia and would confirm if there is anything that I need from them. They normally contact me at least once a day to make sure that everything is going well. Try to focus on my study course , have a good plan for my study and enjoy my time in a safe way Milestones Text or graphic Costing: The total costs for this semester in relation to the course at SCU will be $27,288. This will mainly be financed by the Kuwait government, who are my main sponsor and responsible for the award of the educational scholarship to me. And the second sponsor is my parent who will be responsible for the salary and my living in Bathurst. Network diagram The Pitch This is an awesome project and it shows every detail for the sponsor. It also gathers all information on how this course is running. As awesome as it is, this project must have to be supported. The schedule of the project is presented in the work at hand. Moreover, the linked costing to it is also attached. The priority and goals of the project are also listed. In addition, the other factors of consideration in the project are also taken into account. Stakeholder management was also primarily considered. The project priority matrix was also introduced. In other words, things that of special concern to the one who is going to support this project are all considered in the work at hand. Primarily, the vital information prior to the decision making process for this project are taken into consideration. It is for this reason that the project is said to be well-communicated. As mentioned, it is critical to communicate the project (Kloppenborg T, 2012). It ensures understanding of every component or consideration of it. Furthermore, what makes this project an awesome one is its potential to be applied primarily in the real world or real-case scenario, due to its impact and associated valuable use in the management and other related areas.
