Steve Jobs a Real Inspiration Figure Today, the competitive nature of the global era has enhanced stiff and fair competition especially among different sectors of the economy. In order to survive in this diverse economic system that is characterized by liberalization of the economic system, it calls for breaking the boundaries. Some of the greatest personalities recognized and embraced for their achievements have a testimony to tell on the long journey to success. One of the personalities who is celebrated for his industrious and innovative nature is Steven Jobs.

Steve Jobs is a popular character who has been mentioned by many authors for his entrepreneurial skills. Steve Jobs is one of the ever celebrated American inventor and entrepreneur for his merited creativity and innovation that led to the formation and transformation of the Apple Inc. Being the co-founder, CEO, and the Chairman of Apple Inc., he is widely recognized for being the pioneer of computer revolution and other personal consumer electronic gadgets (Gallo, 2011). The transformation went beyond the computer industry as it extended to movies, music and smartphones.

During his tenure as the CEO of Walt Disney Co. (2006), the company acquired Pixar Animation Studios and transformed them to commercial enterprises that resulted into the development of mouse-driven user interface and the creation of Apple Lisa, the widely used laser printers (Elliot, 2012). The introduction of these new computerized products marked the beginning of the computerization that is today witnesses in the industry of technology. Steve Jobs is one of the great characters and entrepreneurs recognized for his contributions to the development of integrated information technology.

Through his innovation, invention, and creativity, Jobs changed the shape of Apple Inc. Company that emerged as the most traded public corporation in the capital and equity market in 2009 (Gallo, 2011). At the age of 16, Jobs had started his entrepreneurial skills by forming partnership with open minded personalities to drive a common goal for the interest of the parties concerned. The success of Apple and NeXT were attributed to the unique managerial skills and innovation that led to the transformation of the information technology sector (Elliot, 2012).

Although Jobs’ revolution significantly contributed to the transformation of computer and music industries, the question that his works generates is “how has Steve Jobs’ electronic revolution affected us? Through his work, Jobs has inspired a number of upcoming entrepreneurs and investors. His struggle for success at Apple Inc. enhances our understanding on the key issues and secrets to breaking through the odds. One of the key learning drawn from Jobs’ revolution is that fact that investors and entrepreneurs must have a vision and mission in order provide a guide on the way forward.

Like Jobs had a vision, he set his goals and worked towards realizing these goals. It is therefore important for the current generation to initiate feasible investment and business ideas by developing a proper structure and vision statement. Secondly, through his creativity and innovation, it is important to observe that one fundamental reason for success in entrepreneurship is creativity and innovation (Gallo, 2011). However, the first step towards developing a successful business idea is by identifying the gap and then exploring the alternatives to help fill the identified gap.

Through Jobs’ works, it is worth learning that all of us have the ability and potential to be successful entrepreneurs through our creativity and commitment to achieving such heights. Like Jobs, all the entrepreneurs are very productive. However, our level of productivity is influence by other factors including personal ability and availability of financial resources. Since all the investors are faced with economic problem of effective resources allocation among the competitive unlimited wants, it is therefore fundamental for us to make the right investment decisions that maximizes on the returns of the invested financial and non-financial resources (Elliot, 2012).

The other factor that is important to learn from the Jobs’ contribution in the transformation of computer and information technology is the importance of creativity and innovation. Like Jobs’ degree of creativity, invention, and innovation, it is worth learning that through higher degree of creativity and invention, we stand a greater potential of solving real life problems. Through creativity, innovation, and invention, entrepreneurs would identify unique approaches to advancing solutions to challenges and market gaps (Gallo, 2011).

Finally, an important learning drawn from Steve Jobs’ inspiration is the importance of building a sustainable business venture with the sole objective of profitability in the long-run. When Jobs rejoined Apple Inc. in 1997, the company was at a brink of bankruptcy (Elliot, 2012). However, through his skills, Jobs founded workable management and product marketing policies that proved effective in the long-run as Apple Inc. finally broken-even. This is an important learning to the upcoming entrepreneurs and investors to focus on realistic long-terms profitability goals.

In conclusion, successful entrepreneurs must be poses leadership skills, be focused, determined and resilient, visionary, result-oriented, goal driven, risk lover, passionate, and creative.
