Hilton Hotel Employee Management Introduction While it is significant and appropriate for a business, management to look at is key performance indicators, the economic drivers, the underlining factors and competition, it is important to know what a business really is: the persons who work there. All too frequently, employees are seen as expenses that prevent profitability. Nothing can be further from the truth. Let us do a little thought experiment: Visualize walking through your business late in the evening after everybody has gone house. As you survey the enablers, you will realize that all you can notice are desks, telephones, computers, fittings, file cabinets and other facilities. What are the reasons behind inert physical assets to produce value for the owners of the business and to developments opportunities for all concerned? Normally, the persons who use them. Workers are not expenses if this case, then it is critical for managers to guarantee that their viewpoint line up with one fact. While costly, your employees are not just “expenses,” but quite an investment that, if well managed, drives achievement, growth and productivity. In this case, then attracting and keep the best employees likely is critical to ensuring continued achievement of the business and drive it to the other level. Discussion This document will focus on the Hilton hotel management and the way the company treats its employees. The effectiveness and efficiency of training employees is tremendous. Hilton hotel evaluates their own employee training mechanisms. The company achieves this by asking the employees to carry about a journal where they write down what they have learned (Hilton Family of Hotels 2012). Spirit of Hilton > Orientation The spirit of Hilton which is in use today is a two-day comprehension activity done by Human Resource department. The main objective of orientation is to welcome new employees and familiarize them with the Hilton community around the globe. This has significantly contributed towards employee development in the hotel. The employees get to know their specific roles and the types of products and services Hilton Hotel deals in. The second thing the employees get to know is the objectives and aims of the company which ensure that the employees don waste time learning basic things about the Hotel on their own (Hilton Employees 2013). Job Skills Certification: A Training Strategy Hilton Hotel vicinity applies Job skills certification to ensure that the employees of the company have the required ability to deliver in their various areas. The job skills certification process involves checking and observing every new employee perform his or her respective tasks as they are watched. The process ensures that the company does not employ incompetent individuals who has just have paper certification but they lack proper skills to perform the jobs they have been given. By ensuring that the employees have the skills needed, the company also ensures maximum productivity. The company also ensures that the department procedures are followed to the latter (Hilton Dubai Jumeirah 2013). Buddy System The hotel has incorporated a system known as “Buddy” referring to the initial point of contact for a new worker. The buddy system of Hilton Hotel ensures that the employees are taken to their new places of work, introducing those new employees to their new colleagues and departments. The employees are given their obligations and responsibilities towards the company (Cite HR 2013). The employees are also cultured on how to relate with other workers of the company. The Hilton Hotel also arranges for social parties for the employees. These various mechanisms ensure that employee morale is boosted. A well-motivated employee is much productive than a less motivated ones (Cite HR 2013). On the Job training The job training done for employees of the company is known as OJT. It is a special type of training that is done during working. The Hilton Company capitalizes on this type of employee training method. The reason why the company centres much on this type of training is that it results in double advantage (Business Dictionary 2010). The first benefit of this type of training is that the employees acquire the necessary skills and at the same time, they are being trained they are contributing labour to the company. The employees learn from experience (Business Dictionary 2010).They are taught through working. Another advantage is that it is time saving since the time for training and working is one. The person in charge of the whole process is the department trainer. The personnel trainers under the department trainer coach the workers and observe them within the company premises as mentor-buddies. Hilton University Hilton University is one of 12 academic departments at the University of Houston. The university offers two degree courses: The Bachelor of Science in Restaurant and Hotel Management and The Master in Hospitality Management. Hilton University has been ranked as one of the top hospitality school in the U.S (Hilton History & Heritage 2013). OnQ Insider and Hilton OnQ system enhances the guest recognition at the check in and gives more improved levels on the true time access to the guest tastes and preferences. The OnQ system increases guest recognition and enhances the service levels across guest touch points across the chain of hotels. It assists in also ensuring customer loyalty (Hilton History & Heritage 2013). The clients open up an account that is protected by a password. The desk team members use this account to recognize the client at the check in points. This information helps the desk team members give a more personalized service to the client (Ahmed 2013). This is advantageous to the company since if the preferences and tastes of these guests are taken care of then they will remain loyal to the company. The whole process involves welcoming a guest who had previously booked in one of their hotels the book in another of their sister members (Hilton WorldWide University 2013). Conclusion In conclusion, Training employees for a company can have a lot of positive results. Some of the results are better performance and good employee morale. Well-motivated employees give the best customer care related services to customers. When customers a well served as per their expectation, they remain loyal to that particular business. Customer loyalty ensures brand survival and continued flow of revenue and profits. The training of employees by the company also brings in familiarity between the workers and the Work equipment.
