Executive Summary The three key areas of strategy centres on organization’s internal resources, external environment with which the entity operates, and the organization’s capability to add value and compete within the market. The paper explores British Airways in relation to its organizational strategy and decision making. The goals of British Airways can be categorized as: environment (to minimize noise, carbon emissions, waste, and enhance local air quality); community (be part of international communities and actively engage in conservation projects and charities in places it flies); marketplace (encourage it clients and suppliers to act responsibly); and, workplace (avail an exciting workplace and encourage every employee to embrace one destination. II. Introduction Corporate strategy explores the organization as a whole and the manner in which it relates to its environment (Nag, Hambrick and Chen 2007, p.935). The pursuit of organizational strategy and decision making requires a concise analysis of the organization at both corporate level and business level. At the corporate level key aspects encompass: the business organization is or should be; the fundamental directions for the future; the business culture and leadership style; and, the general attitude towards strategic change (Nag, Hambrick and Chen 2007, p.936). At the individual business level, the key aspects centre on: whether the business can compete successfully; the organization’s sustainable competitive advantage; whether the business can innovate; the business customers; and the value that the entity adds (Johnson, Whittington and Scholes 2011, p.4).
