Graduates are nowadays faced with challenges when it comes to choosing information that is informative, reliable, and at the same time scholarly (Jay, 1983). Although accurate information tends to be essential in arriving at educated conclusions while at the same time making preeminent choices through successful communication, this information is rarely available, particularly in this digital information environment, which is ever-changing. Therefore, it is a prerequisite for a graduate student to acquire strong literacy information skills, which will help search for and evaluate information in a scholarly environment.

Students find it imperative to find information that is scholarly as well as peer-reviewed like journal articles. In addition, other sources of information are non-reviewed such as Wikipedia which might be helpful for background, although these sources contain information that frequently lacks depth and may exhibit a lot of errors (Jay, 1983). Nonetheless, the North Central Library contains extensive holdings in any field, and with the assistance of the librarians, students are capable of finding any information they require.
