Service Blueprint Introduction The concept of service blueprint will boost the performance of Ikea furniture store.Because it entails the visualization of service forecasting. This concept shows the quality of service and customer service delivery expected. The service processes are evaluated in order to realize value derived from each process. The customer welfare is emphasized in order to retain customers in the furniture store. However, there is a problem in the establishment of a service blueprint because management of the furniture store fails to ascertain the exact quality of the processes (Schmutz, Daniel and Peter 67). This research proposal will establish the effects of service blueprint on Ikea the furniture store. This proposal will focus on the relationship between service blueprint and the furniture store’s performance. In addition, it will give way to the collection and analysis of data from appropriate sources in order to answer the research problem. Ikea service blueprint graph: 1.1. Executive Summary Service blueprint is essential in the determination of the performance of a furniture store. The success of furniture storage in Ikea is influenced by the manner in which the management tailors the service processes and operations to boost the productivity of the Ikea furniture storage .This concept immensely contributes to the success of a firm given the value-chain analysis concerned with the service blueprint (Giriappa 56). However, the principle can be used to boost the performance of a firm. This is because the manufacturing sector can lead to the refurbishment of the infrastructure. Evaluation for service processes can be employed in order to enhance response to variances. Consequently, productivity of a firm will to increase. This will lead to the going concern of a furniture store. Most entities have many activities, which result in the difficulties in the critical evaluation of the value-adding service processes. Service blueprint is also based on the assumption that products consume activities, which in turn consume resources of an entity (Ledderhos 48). This system assigns cost of the activities done in the process of production with regard to the resources used in these activities. Then the activity costs are allocated to the products and services. This assigning of cost to products is done using specific ratios of their workloads. This system establishes the exact portion of resources consumed by a particular product. This is aimed at means using the profitability or loss of producing a certain good. In addition, this information helps in determination of the most value-adding activities. The system also establishes the type of customers who are most valuable to the furniture store. This allocation of costs to activities also helps in the improvement of performance of the furniture store given that non-value adding activities can be eliminated early. In this regard marketing strategies are developed hence improving the sales revenue of various products. Furthermore, this system has culminated in great advancement in product design and customer satisfaction. Indeed, internal processes have been streamlined in a bid to realize value from the activity based management. The supplier relationships have been boost by this system. The concept applies cost drivers in the allocation of costs to products. A cost driver is an event related to a certain activity, which consumes the furniture store’s resources. 1.2. Problem Definition There is a need to set up good value-chain analysis which will curb the underproduction in the storage of furniture. This initiative will result into the improvement in output, which will result in consequent reduction in furniture storage. This will also resolve the problem of storage in Ikea the furniture store. This also results to diversification of risks which will increase the net effect of risks on the overall returns from various activities within the furniture store, which store furniture. This will result in the increase in the productivity of many furniture stores in the country. 1.4. Research Questions The research questions of concern will be: Has the service blueprint concept helped boost furniture storage in Ikea the furniture store? Is the service blueprint in sync with the overall furniture storage goal in the country? What is the status of the furniture storage in Ikea before initiation of service blueprint? What are the effects of the service blueprint on the furniture storage? 1.5. Research design The research will employ surveying in the study because this will eliminate the need to do experiments on the variables of concern. This research design is appropriate given that it allows the use of qualitative analysis of variables. Therefore, there is no need for the use of experiments. This methodology will enhance the collection of relevant data from sampled items. There will be use of statistical analysis of the variables in order to establish the relationship existing between the variables with regard to service blueprint. In addition, qualitative data will be obtained and subjected to the statistical analysis in order to give more detailed inference. The qualitative data will include both primary and secondary data. 1.7.2 Sampling and sampling procedures The research will carry out in-depth interviewing with professional from all the sectors under consideration. This implies that the study will be comprehensive because it will cover many issues concerning the operation of the various sectors. The professionals involved will provide the current status of the furniture store productivity. Then they will be required to explain in detail the relationship between the service blueprint and a firm’s productivity. 1.7.3 Data collection There will be collection of both primary and secondary data. The former will highlight the current state of these sectors, whereas the latter will provide information on the development of furniture store over time. The data collection will focus on the various aspects of the firm including the service processes. The interview will dictate the data collection method to be used. On the other hand, secondary data will be obtained from articles of the firm’s industry. Past research on the subject can also be utilized to provide this data. The interviewees will be experts from the various sectors thus they will be identified. Then they will be informed and requested to participate in the study. After they consent to the request, time schedules will be prepared in readiness for the event. 1.7.4 Data analysis This will involve the statistical testing of the relationship between the variables of the study. The factors which indicate the performance of the furniture store will be assessed and analyzed in detail in a bid to establish the correlation between service blueprint and the furniture store’s performance. 1.8 Conclusion The research study will be crucial because it will give an insight on what needs to be done in order to initiate the service blueprint principle i Ikea furniture stire. Additionally, the comprehensive evaluation of the service processes will be done in order to improve the service delivery and a firm performance.
