Cango Analysis Report In the fast paced world of business environment prevalent in the 21st century, it is of extreme priority to focus on managing the business and operational processes in a startup organization since the success and failure of the startup ventures is associated with the delivery of products and services to the clients, which provides them the much needed initial acknowledgement, accreditation as well as financial payments that are considered essential for the purpose of sustenance in the upcoming days. Startup companies increasingly reinvent and reformulate their business processes while keeping in point, the client requirements and demands in an attempt to sustain and establish themselves. This happens in the startup organization mainly because of their lack of availability and the ability to implement a well tested business process (Allen, 2011, p. 295) It has to be increasingly taken in to account, that Cango is a startup organization. This naturally leads the assumptions that the company lacks the possession as well as implementation of well established frameworks and policies, which are often considered as highly essential for the purpose of streamlining the company’s business processes. Additionally, it can be said that the availability of the established business processes and frameworks for the company would have significantly contributed towards the proper guidance, grooming of the employees of the organization, which would have led to the higher productivity of the employees. In this report, the focus is generally provided towards the highlighting of the existing points of strength as well as the deficiency points, which will thereby lead to the process of improvements through the recommendation made after the strengths and weakness analysis. Points of Deficiencies There are a lot of deficiency points that are currently existent in the business process related to the smooth flow of operation in the startup company, Cango. 1. Improper Problem Identification: The very first point of deficiency that comes in to highlight in the process of absence of a well planned business process is the fact of improper problem identification. The conversation in the video highlighted the urgent needs to address the issues of returns and complaints from the customers in the last Christmas. But, it eventually came into light that this major problem, which has the potential chances of getting repeated, was not given top priority while handling and working on the process flowchart concerning improvements. 2. Improper employee communication: It evidently came into light that there is a tremendous deficiency that is present in the process of employee communication. Apart from that, it also highlighted that the process of miscommunication led to the fact of inappropriate arranging of priorities by the employees in regards to the urgency of the completion of the task. 3. Lack of departmental co ordination: There is a strong evidence of lack of inter departmental communication and co ordination that is happening in the absence of a streamlined business process in Cango. The evaluation of the MPV analysis by Jack highlighted the fact that the estimates of the IT department have not been taken in to consideration in the course of preparation of the MPV analysis. 4. Lack of Professional Culture: A serious deficiency is highlighted in the business processes of Congo while analyzing the behavioral attitude of the current employees. It increasingly brought into focus that the employees of Congo have a laid back approach and a habit of delaying the task at hand. This promotes a laid back organizational attitude besides the process of increasingly showing a lack of existence of professional culture at the workplace. 5. Improper evaluation of ROI: A serious point of deficiency comes into focus while talking about the point of the possible return of investment and relative impact in terms of the implementation of the new technology. It has to be taken into account that the implementation of the new technology, ASRS was not evaluated in terms of process change as well as the strategic benefits that it can provide in the long term with regards to the cost of investing in that particular technology. 6. Improper Resource Utilization: A serious deficiency comes in to focus for the business processes of the company, while talking and discussing in terms of optimum amount of resource allocation and utilization. The fact of improper streamlining of the job shop process, which leads to more efforts and time consumption for the process of book picking by the workers increasingly leads to improper utilization of the human resources associated with the operational business processes. Recommendations It can be said that though there are serious deficiencies present in the method of handling of business processes in Cango, there can always be some recommendations. The recommendations will definitely provide considerable amount of improvements as well as related benefits to the handling of business processes in the company besides the establishment of a proper business format for certain processes in the startup company. 1. Documentation of Problems: The process of documentation of the problems will help the company to address the issues that are being raised by the clients. Also, the process of documentation will help the company to identify and prioritize the problems on the basis of their urgency. This will also enhance the company’s ability to develop further solutions in the future, that will enable them solving similar kinds of issues when raised by the clients and customers. 2. Maintaining E-Memo: The process of lack intercommunication between inter-departments as well as intra-departments can be handled by the process of maintaining an online memo. This will streamline the process of updating team members as well as other departments about the progress of shared projects or assignments. This will also significantly benefit the employees by helping them to understand the priority order of assignments, and thereby help them to manage their time in a better manner. 3. Evaluation of ROI: It has to be increasingly taken into account, that there should be a proper policy regarding the process of evaluation of the investment towards the implementation of new technologies (Grembergen, 2001, p. 194). Apart from judging the functional as well as demand fulfilling abilities from the features of implementing the new technology in the company, the technology also needs to be evaluated from the point of return of investment that the usage of the new technology will or may provide in the future. It has to be increasingly taken in to consideration by the management team that the new technology can only be implemented, if it holds significant amount of capability to provide significant returns to the company, while analyzing it from the financial as well as technological perspectives.
