Marketing through television and internet is effective because they are available to almost every person in the world and advertising through these channels raise the level of awareness in people about ongoing changes and latest issues in healthcare.

If we talk about internet advertising, we can say that it is one of the most effective tools of marketing in the present world. Today, marketing companies advertise new healthcare companies by posting their ads on famous websites so that when an internet user opens that website, he/she should be able to view that ad. Moreover, the marketers also advertise the services being provided by those companies in order to give people detailed information about those services. Pharmaceutical companies also advertise their new products to make health professionals and general public aware of those products.

Apart from internet and television advertising, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies also use events and promotion programs to advertise their products and services. The companies arrange events of public interest by putting in the elements of music, entertainment, and kids’ shows to attract a large number of people. People participate in such programs to enjoy some time wit their families, as well as to know latest information about healthcare practices, products, and services. The main aim of those events is to build awareness about new technologies, products, and services.

Therefore, companies arrange such shows to market their products and services and use entertainment as the tool to attract people towards the show. Some healthcare and pharmaceutical companies use door-to-door marketing to create awareness. They use print marketing techniques, such as, brochures and flyers to provide information to public about the products and services. They send their sales teams to different areas, such as, homes, supermarkets, schools, and colleges to distribute the brochures and flyers.

These advertising techniques have also proved to be very effective in generating high levels of sales, as well as in building public awareness. I feel that current marketing techniques are affecting consumer trends towards healthcare services in a positive way. These techniques are making people aware of new treatments, medicines, and therapies. These techniques are also educating people regarding the severity of different diseases and their available treatments. As a result, people are becoming more and more concerned about their health issues and show willingness to get proper treatments.

Health promotion programs make people aware of different diseases, their vaccinations, and treatments to help them cope with the diseases in an effective manner. In the past, health-marketing trend was somewhat less vivid because of which diseases used to spread more quickly than today. Earlier, people used to get information about their infections and diseases only trough proper checkups which also used to cost them huge money. However, today due to current health marketing trend, people can know about their health conditions because health advertising campaigns make them aware of signs and symptoms of various diseases in a regular manner.

It has also reduced medical cost of a large number of people. Although they have to pay for medicines and treatments but their diagnostic costs have definitely reduced because of effective marketing campaigns and awareness programs. I do not see any negative impact on health care workers due to current marketing techniques and trends because all of them go in their favor. Marketing is all about building awareness among the targeted audience. It is the 21st century and use of technology and new promotion techniques has become an integral part of advertising campaigns.

Companies have to use such modes of advertisements that can make them focus on the advertisements despite of their increased involvement in personal and professional lives. Today, people do not have much time to search for information about diseases, medicines, new medical technologies, and latest techniques in healthcare. Therefore, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies feel the responsibility of building awareness on their own. It is essential because when more people will become aware of new medical services and healthcare products, more people will come to healthcare workers for treatment as the result of which demand for healthcare workers will increase and that would raise their salaries as well.
