Diwan: A Tale of Heart over Mattar Diwan: A Tale of Heart over Mattar Question One The strategies that a business formulates in enhancing operations and meeting the demands of its customer determine if it will succeed or fail (Blythe, 2009). Analyzing the situation at Diwan, there is so much that can be done to attain this. A value proposition is meant to apprise to the customers what benefits they are likely to get when they purchase a company’s product. For Diwan’s case, the first stage of formulating the value proposition would be an assessment of the firm’s customers.

As indicated, the company has loyal customers who, apparently, have great trust in the company. Moreover, it has several customers who have different needs and not just books. For example, those who seek for services such as book binding among others. It is, therefore, important that Diwan consider the needs of each customer empathically. Based on product consideration, Diwan is best placed since the commodities and services it offers quenches the customers thirst for books to read. For example, before the firm was set, customers would struggle to access books.

The differentiation of products is also a plus as customers can get almost every item they may need in a library. Consequently, competition has also been minimized as Diwan has stocked items that other organizations do not have. It means Diwan’s products are creating more value and meeting the needs of the customers that the competitors’. Based on the customers’ needs to have a larger store that can meet the overwhelming demands, it is important that Diwan expand and open several other stores.

This can be supported by the capital the organization has.Question TwoEssentially, there are five marketing concepts. These include production concept, product concept, societal marketing concept, marketing concept and selling concept. Production Concept is basically the focus a company has on the creation of goods and/or services it supplies to the market. The concept assumes that the increase in product creation will automatically lead to an escalation of sales. Product Concept is focused on the quality of the item that the company sells.

Buyers are sought to be lured by enhancing the quality of the goods and services supplied. Societal Marketing Concept is more on the social obligations and responsibilities the company has. For example, it makes an organization to engage in activities that can benefit the customers and the whole community. Marketing Concept is focused on the target market and how an organization can beat the rest of the players in meeting the demands of the customers. It is about how the commodities can succeed in the market by creating a good brand.

Lastly, Selling Concept is about persuading the potential customers into purchasing the firm’s products. In most cases, companies engage in various promotional activities that can lure the customers to buy what they supply. Selling is a transactional activity in which the seller entices the buyer to purchase the goods and services. In Diwan’s case, the concept that best describe its situation is marketing concept. This is because the company’s major focus is on how they can best fill the market niche that is available in the area Egypt economy by providing books and other services that the locals require (Blythe, 2009).
