The main function of this combined or joint intelligence operating in Afghanistan is to offer various information and evaluations to facilitate achievement of the mission of the Operation Anaconda II. The main purposes of the combined intelligence that lead intelligence directorate of the joint staff (J-2) employees and those of supporting association or organization are enlighten or inform the commander recognize, describe, and propose aims, support the planning and implementation of operations oppose opponent deception and surprise support welcoming deception attempts and evaluate the consequences of operations on the adversary.

Intelligence operations are extremely comprehensive, carried out by the intelligence organizations and employees for the purpose of offering nationwide-level commanders’ decision created with appropriate, precise, and timely intelligence. “The six categories of intelligence operations are: planning and direction collection processing and exploitation analysis and production dissemination and integration and evaluation and feedback” (Joint Intelligence 2007, 12). Intelligence offers the commander with a threat evaluation based on an investigation of the complete variety of adversary’s abilities and a forecast of the adversary’s expected intention. . e decision-creating cycle of the adversary’s, enhancing insight into how the adversary will take action (act) or act in response (react) with a certain situation.

The commander can so prepare plans based on this information and thus diminish the risks intrinsic in military operations and enhance the probability of success. The levels of intelligence of CIA, SOF, national assets available for tactical exploitation, and other Army units of the tactical commanders: Support planning and carry out fights and engagements. Provide commanders by way of information on forthcoming intimidation to their forces. Offer commanders with impediment intelligence. To be successful, intelligence support must have integrity which is accomplished by gaining the faith of the commander.

This belief is usually achieved over time, subsequent to a track evidence of precise intelligence evaluations. Intelligence allocates the commander to battle smarter by supporting his selection of the most excellent courses of action.
