The wilderness where the shepherd leads his flock represent the good life that those people who believe in Jesus Christ live, Jesus protects them from any danger and also that they always live satisfying lives.
The image that the two chapters represent is that of a shepherd who leads his sheep to the wilderness where there are plenty of green pastures and cool waters, the shepherd protects the sheep form any danger because he is the owner of the flock.
One difference is that the psalms is an Old Testament book while John is a New Testament book, the Psalms chapter is a praise to the Lord by Jesus while John chapters is based on the life of Jesus Christ, this parable was told to the disciples of by the shepherd himself
The two chapters have focused on the good shepherd and what will happen if we become one of his sheep, we should therefore follow the good shepherd who is Jesus Christ; if we follow him he will protect us from any danger and will provide for us whatever we need, we should believe in him so that we will recognise his voice and therefore do what is right.
Psalms 23 is an Old Testament book that is retrieved from the songs of David, John 10 is a New Testament book that was written after the Jesus was crucified and therefore it focuses on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
