Strategic human resource management aims at helping leaders' to use their human capital effectively as they make decisions daily and plan for employment programs. Many companies have sought cheap labor from different countries but the strategy seems to fail in achieving the goals of the organization thus has called for the need to come up with the global ways of practicing the human resource strategies. The Google management is yet to meet more challenges in the current century. It is important for it to be flexible, easily adapt to changes and appreciate team work with its employees. Today, very many people are looking for working environments where they can exercise their skills and knowledge but not where they can only follow instructions and not grow in their careers. For this purpose the global human resource planning has been brought forward in the Google Company to help the management to know how they can adopt to changes to avoid the future challenges it is yet to face (Goodman, chapter 4&9).
The business world is becoming more global than before thus there is need for the organizations to ensure that the human resource strategies meet the global requirements of the labor market. Google is an international company and it has international labor. Thus the management faces a lot of changes especially in their organizational culture. Organizational culture can be defined as the specific beliefs and values of an organization. Google like any other organization has a way of doing things and it faces the challenges of changing its culture due to technological changes and other changes such as people being more aware of their rights. When an organization is rigid thus keeps its culture without changing it to cope with the current changes, then that organization is bound to fail in attaining its goals (Goodman, chapter 4&9).
In the verge to accepting changes, Google needs to accept that the human resource management department plays a very big role in attaining its organizational goals. It should be given the chance to be represented in the board and should stop playing its traditional role of being considered as a small and insignificant department. There is need for all departments to join the human resource department in coming up with ways to ensure that employees are working well and they are at the same time being satisfied with their jobs. The human resource department is expected to act as a mentor, leader and coach for other departments when it comes to dealing with employee issues. It is supposed to advice all other line mangers on how to deal with their employees in their respective departments. The conjunction of other line mangers and the human resource management can help future leaders to avoid problems such as recruiting the wrong employees and law suits due to ignoring the employment laws (Goodman, chapter 4&9).
It is also important for the Google management to understand the concept of global leadership. As the business world is becoming more and more global so should leaders understand that they will require employees from different parts of the world. The leadership style a manager chooses is expected to ensure that the employees can develop their skills and
