He has written nine books which have proved as a prize winning TV programs and documentaries. Some of his best works include The Serpent and the Rainbow, The light at the edge of the world and many more.
The Light at the Edge of the World is one of the best and unique work of Davis as he has presented an intimate survey of the ethno sphere in 80 striking photographs taken over the course of his wide exploration. The author through his work takes readers deep into worlds. This book basically covers the notion and existence of nature from one corner to the other covering rituals, beliefs, and lives of the Waorani, the Penan, the Inuit, and many other unique and hidden traditional cultures.
He writes "The human imagination is vast, fluid, infinite in its capacity for social and spiritual invention" and also reminds us that "there are other means of interpreting our existence, other ways of being" (Davis p176). These statements of the author served as most important and strongest points of the book. These are the major learning points which one should take into consideration as these wordings can change one's life.
It basically highlights the very true notion existence of humans that humans are not sent on this earth for any one motive; but the actual and true interpretation of our existence is way different than spending a normal life style.
