China has recorded double digit economic growth throughout the 1990s, and 2000s, and is well on its way to becoming the number one economy in the world (Kai-Alexander, 2002, p. 3). The importance of the country's huge domestic market has been, and is attracting business investment, which has implications for both the firms entering as well as already in the market. The foregoing also has implications for the Chinese national employed in the managerial level.
