Extract of sample "Preventing School Bullying"

Sometimes counselors and teachers did not notice school bullying or in an attempt to help the victims complicate the matter and victims stop reporting it. Participants The methodology of this study is based on 2 surveys conducted in 50 different high schools in the region. The study is applied to pupils between 6 and 10 grade and it is voluntary. The first survey is organized as self-reported questions and answers, it is anonymous and tries to estimate the degree of bullying in the given school.

The other survey concentrates on the desire of participants to name the reasons why they were bullied and the ways in which this was done. Selection of Site The schools were selected on a regional basis in order to narrow down the scope of the study and to be able to obtain data with higher accuracy. Data Collection Process and Methodology The collected data were statistically processed. The data collection process represented interviews with the pupils and classifications of their answers in the different categories.

The study has found that bullies are predisposed to have a positive attitude towards aggression, have negative attitudes towards school and education and have behavior problems. On the bases of the collected data, it was estimated that bullying takes two distinct phases - verbal and physical.
