Globalization, Outsourcing, Off-shoring, and Offshore Outsourcing Impact on Culture As international economy becomes more interrelated, methods of conducting business transform. Globalization, outsourcing, off-shoring, and offshore outsourcing have impacted contemporary culture. Here, we review historical changes from outsourcing to offshore outsourcing; detail how globalization, outsourcing, off-shoring and offshore outsourcing has influenced contemporary culture; and give the modern business person clues to solving the challenge of globalization, outsourcing, off-shoring, and offshore outsourcing.

First, we review historical changes from outsourcing to offshore outsourcing. Offshore services have grown rapidly in recent years. (Davis, G.; Ein-Dor, P.; King, W.; and Torkzadeh, R. 2006). The advent of the Internet in large scale operations gave industry the opportunity for more cost effective labor since the 1990s. By the first decade of 2000, it had become widespread business practice to contract knowledge reliant work to countries such as India or the Philippines. Now, the number of certain jobs decreases in the United States, but new positions and responsibilities are emerging.

Along with risk comes opportunity.Next, we detail how globalization, outsourcing, off-shoring and offshore outsourcing have influenced contemporary culture. The dangers of losing important business skills and dependence upon remote suppliers looms large (Loebbecke, C., Huyskens, C., and Mitev, N.). Team disintegration due to global divisions of labor is problematic. Off shoring has affected job opportunities for graduates of information systems programs. To fill these gaps, American students train to manage offshore operations which has required adaptations of IS curricula globally.

Such programs focus on thinking globally but acting locally - a set of independent interrelationships. Finally, we give the modern business person clues to solving the challenge of globalization, outsourcing, off-shoring, and offshore outsourcing. In general, cost effectiveness allows companies to focus on core activities. Management needs to be aware of risks associated with off shoring and outsourcing in general. The loss of jobs due to off shoring introduces political considerations including the dissatisfaction of state side labor pools.

A method of standardized protocols is imperative to successful business in this environment (Rouse, A. C. and Corbitt, B. J. 2006). What this really means is a process of coordinated leadership between providers and suppliers. It is the process of exploiting the Internet in such a way as to not only augment project development but to establish use case schemas.Globalization, outsourcing, off-shoring, and offshore outsourcing have impacted contemporary culture. Here, we have reviewed historical changes from outsourcing to offshore outsourcing; detailed how globalization, outsourcing, off-shoring and offshore outsourcing has influenced contemporary culture; and given the modern business person clues to solving the challenge of globalization, outsourcing, off-shoring, and offshore outsourcing.

As international economy becomes more interrelated, methods of conducting business transform. Process streamlining is one method of managing the risks associated with these opportunities.ReferencesDavis, G.; Ein-Dor, P.; King, W.; and Torkzadeh, R. (2006).
