R.Preeti 26/11/2007 BUSINESS ESSAY INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE Annette Jackison owns a small craft store, that specialises in selling art and artefact, as a reflection of the culture and place-bound tradition of the area it is set up in. Most certainly, products of cultural and traditional significance are in demand among the masses, who would like to add an extension of their tradition to their current fast-paced lives. Due to this successful running of business, Annette has decided to expand her business, by first creating a website to start off on a high note.

The current goals of the business are to develop a website and mobilise expansion plans, keeping in view the aim of the business. The lack of an already existent website can be viewed as a handicap, besides the low number of staff appointed to run the business. Therefore, the shop must look towards expanding its team of employees and creating a website that is comprehensive in terms of the details of products, purchase catalogue, and the like.

Thus, this project management and expansion needs some analysis to begin with. ANALYSISThe PAPERS Methodology is useful in such a scenario, when process, customs, promotion and web support are the major criteria in the formation and growth of the company. For instance, the eBay website employs the support of the customers and users of the website. They act as dealers of products and intermediaries. The website not only provides a great forum for buying and selling of products, but also gives the dealers, buyers and sellers the opportunity to discuss and share opinions and knowledge on various products via forums.

The implementation of the philosophy of the selling of products and dissemination of information is in tune with the architectural compatibility of the website, which is a click-and-mortar store alone. In this employment of the latest advancement in technology, the website has also taken care not to allow the disadvantageous aspects of technology creep into the business. For this reason, the website ahs been made extremely secure and safe for financial transactions on the net, via PayPal, or even Credit Cards.

CONCLUSION AND OPINIONThus, the website has employed all the norms and rules of e-commerce business building via the internet. It ahs incorporated important methodologies and themes that are relevant and akin to project management and business expansion into the 'virtual' world.REFERENCESWebsite: http://www.projectmanagementcertification.org/managernotes/project_management_processes.htmlWebsite: www.ebay.in
