His photographs have been exhibited at a number of galleries, including The International Center for Photography in New York and the Carpenter Centre in Cambridge and have been published in magazines including Time, People, Discover, Ommi, Science, Stern, and Geo. His other works include The Clouded Leopard, One River: Explorations and Discoveries in the Amazon Rain Forest and The Serpent and the Rainbow.Through this book, Davis is trying to focus on the challenges of the satisfaction of daily life in an industrial and technological society which weighs different and fast than the past.

As he was a PhD in ethnobotany and was a student of anthropology, his journey through different parts of the world including high Arctic, Amazon, Africa, Tibet, Haiti, Peru, and Sarawak gave a different prospect of photography and a different notion to write about these. During his journey, he could encounter information like people and plants, medicine, language, landscapes, history, custom, and creation myths. Thus, he was able to understand about different human cultures and regarded it as "ethno sphere.

" By ethno sphere, he meant "People of the earth whose essential humanity has been defined by the landscapes in which they are nurtured" (Book). He gauged that people belonging to the different atmospheric environment either it be of the ice, the forests, the river deltas, the jungle, the desert sands or the high mountain plateaus, daily life for all of them is both a precise and a fully variant exercise of knowledge and understanding. While concluding the book, it seems that the author is getting more in-depth of the facts prevailing in the world which is giving him a pathway to explore and absorb more of it.

He even mentions his dilemma that one day we would wake up, look around and find ourselves all to be the same and we won't be in a condition to remember what we actually lost in this race of worldly life (National Geographic Feature Light at the Edge of the World). Topic The whole book is divided into seven chapters which include topics like the wonder of the ethnic sphere, the eyelids of wolves, the forest and the stars, the faces of the Gods, the last nomads, the land of snows and a thousand ways of being.

All these chapters are formulated in a way the author has explored these notions from his journey. This book has presented some of the unique perspectives of the things prevailing in the world. One of the interesting chapters of this book is "The last nomads" in which the author has presented the life of one of the oldest Mongolian tribes (book). The author who is also a photographer has first captured the living of that tribe into his camera and presented in this book. Through his experience, it seems that Inner Mongolia is one of the few highly remote places remaining in the world.

The need for economic development is rapidly changing the face of Mongolia. Severe sandstorms are destroying the environment and so of Mongolia too.
