Diversity-Impact of globalization The present article assets on importance of diversifying the employees' workforce with a blend of people from various background to growing need to sustain new work environment. Globalizationthe context is driving the industrial fraternity to new opportunities. The advent of the modern communication systems made the companies to identify the possible markets for their goods. The saturated markets are no more a worry for the companies as the markets are wide opens for them to explore. The global markets have certainly provided new marketing opportunities. As the communication is advanced, the connectivity increases people will get a chance to know the happenings round the world. People will have the chance of gaining the knowledge of the unique products available in the neighboring world. The global need and wants by the people would be perceived according to the availability of the concerned products. People are in search of products with high end technological excellence, better quality, and with more features. The migration of people for the developed countries to the various other parts of the world spread ha s resulted in a new section of workforce. The workforce of a particular country cannot show the results as they performed in their parent country. The organization is a conglomerate of different individuals and it is necessary to coordinate with these individuals to fulfill the organization mission. A company ventured into a new region has to accommodate the regional traditions and political constraints. The employees from the parent company may not be best suit to the market environment in focus. Business entities flatter to deceive if they do not arrive in allocating the adequate service personal pool to place the company aloft in competition. The article has some important issues under consideration Working knowledge of executives for global companies The racial predominance in the top notch positions The role of the woman power The influence of the native head in the operational excellence of an organization The change in the organizational performance Working knowledge of the top executives should match the global standards. Multi national companies working in different countries need to be monitored with varied administrative techniques to keep in the track with the changing face of the industrial and economic environments to tune up the organization according to these changes. Diverse culture demands coordinating with workforce from different cultural back ground etc. These employees are to be empowered to organization goals and objectives to turn them towards organizational excellence. The author in the article has asserted the need to give due importance to the diversity of top executives of the different regional background to work in different regions to understand the native environment and enhance the reach to the overseas employees. The racial discrimination in the top notch companies executive level positions have been highlighted where most of the individuals are white-skinned. The notion that the other section of employees are been confined to the middle level management positions was ably raised as a concern. The example that Pepsi Co adopted to hire diversified workforce to lead different regions has clearly justified the importance of diversity in work environment and the growing importance of women in prime positions in organization. The vital reason here that has to be noted is the Asian and African countries have had made rapid development and in order to gain benefits from their manpower and service excellence, the organizations has to provide them freedom to act on an issue and give them an opportunity at their native regions to lead the firm performance. The women workforce value has to be recognized and they have to be encouraged to implement their strategies in pursuit of the organization excellence. The diversity in an work environment was rightly quoted as a resource of knowledge as the workforce offer unique strategies to sustain. The participation by women, including women in leadership and decision making positions now a days can be observed in many companies. Women leaders have had outperformed many other contemporary male counter parts in securing better offers right from education. Days have changed and women are coming out of their glass ceiling even in Arab countries. Companies are trying to accommodate their customs and traditions to gain from their leadership qualities. The example of Harley Davison ignoring the women market and the huge colored skin market has left them nowhere in their business. As the company markets only in American & European countries where there is stiff competition from Japan manufactures. Davison realized very late that they were not tuned to the growing demands and locating new market opportunities.. The influence of the native head in the operational excellence of an organization Companies now a days hire their leadership locally to customize their operation to that country. These local experienced individuals are well equipped with the realities existing in their native country .The local expertise will make the prelude of a Organizations easier as the workforce have already habituated to the regional work culture. An Indian in India can gain success in no time, but An American may take time to visualize the environment in the new market environment and benefit on it.. The organizational performance will increase as the individuals other than western community dominates the world population and organizing them in leader ship positions may result in astonishing success like IBM achieved in operational excellence as quoted in the article. The author has raised valid points but didn't focus in-depth to locate the reasons behind them.
