For this, a variety of language-comprehending tools may be used. For example, students may be shown a series of pictures that they can identify using sounds. Such an exercise will help students to correctly pronounce the word that corresponds to the picture that is shown to them.

The nuances of language comprehension can be tested using the following task.

1. Create a series of commonly available objects along with their pictures. Spell out the name of the pictures and let students identify them by sound: Test whether the student can correlate the shape of the object with its name. Encourage the students if they can correctly identify the name of the object.

2. Provide students with a sentence and ask each student to identify words that carry the main stress in the sentence: Test whether students can identify the stress in the sentences. They should be able to identify the stress and be able to identify sections of the sentences that carry the stress.

3. Provide a sentence that can be spoken with various intonations. Ask each student to identify the mood of the speaker by listening to the sentence spoken in various moods: This test will help the teacher to identify whether the students can identify different intonations in the sentences that are spoken to them. They should be able to identify the different moods and nuances of sentences that are spoken to them.

4. Provide a sentence and ask students to identify the meaning of the sentence from a selection of closely related sentences: This will help the teacher to identify whether the student can comprehend what is being spoken to them.

5. Use a map and provide instructions on how to reach a place using the map. The instructions can be spoken to the students and after providing each student with a map ask them to find out a hidden object using instructions that were spoken to them: Same as above.

6. Provide a picture to the students with a drawing and ask students to complete the drawing using instructions that will be provided to them orally: Same as above.

7. Provide a lecture to students in the class and ask students to fill out the blanks in an exam sheet using the lecture as a base: Same as above.
