Health Risk of an Abortion To start with the discussion, we need to remind ourselves first that indeed the most important issue with regards to the balancing of particular individual beings where social responsibility lies is in my point of view known as abortion. With the changing thoughts have come a number of different thinking changes as well and one such change is the way in which people perceive the issue of abortion in essence. This law has been used, misused, adopted and done away with in different parts of the world yet a singular proposition on its undertaking is yet to come at this stage. The law of abortion was passed so that these people could be legally allowed to do whatsoever they may feel like. None the less it would not be wrong to say that the anti-abortionists came up with some pretty valid points, but then again it is on one’s freedom whether or not to cut short the birth process or continue with it. (Mohr, 1979) For decades now, abortion has been a hot topic and the same will continue to be the case in the years to come. Anti-Abortionists on the other hand agree in unison that it is pretty much in defiance as laid down in the holy books to commit such a heinous act like abortion. The rationale that can be provided here is that if at any point in time it was in defiance with the laws, then it is between the woman under question as she is the one who will be the recipient of chastisement with regards to the abortion decision that she has taken. A number of people are of the view that abortion can threaten a mother’s life and hence should be deemed as illegal right from the onset. Again there are some opinions which suggest that if the mother does not want to have the baby then it would be best to at least give birth to the newborn and give it to some orphan house so that those women who do not have children in their lives can raise their families in accordance. This seems pretty valid since giving a newborn for the sake of adoption is a good route none the less if a family is against the birth and the eventual raise of the baby. This is due to the fact that at times it has been seen that these children suffer immensely as they sit for ages in the orphanages making them look like unwanted guests in this world. Studies have shown that the health issues related with abortion could include breast cancer, clinical depression, increase in mortality rate and reproductive issues to surface within a woman. This means that all of these tangents are highlighted in a significant manner by abortion which indeed mars the very basis of womanhood. Undoubtedly, the health concerns related with abortion are aplenty. There is the attached feeling of depression and anxiety related disorders that arise within the mother. She feels as if some part of her body has been taken from her. Then the malfunctions within the different body units also take place. A lot of hue and cry is raised within the medical ranks as to what the exact basis of abortion is in the eyes of the medical fraternity. The most basic question that arises here is to find out how abortion brings a sense of discomfort for the woman under question and puts a troublesome curve within her body? This question is still in the process of a complete answer and it is hoped that the medical fraternity will do its best to locate the solution at the very earliest. Breast cancer is a kind of cancer that can arise within women who have had abortion done. This is a kind of cancer that usually takes place within the cells present in the breasts. It is the second most common kind of cancer, first one being the lung cancer. Medical science has proven that abortion is harmful after thorough research as it can harm the mother eventually and it is best advisable to keep away from abortions but then again as poor economic conditions, illegal relationships and so on and so forth have proven over the years that the thinking of people just cannot be changed at all. The definition of abortion accounts to the deliberate slain of someone who is just about to enter into this world. It includes all such activities which make it literally impossible for the newborn to enter the world. This could be in the form of taking medicines, voluntarily practice of exercises which would indeed lead to abortion on the part of the mother and so many more. The biggest drawback that could have arisen lies in the fact that it has been recognized as being an essential part of the human rights that are for one and all within the different societies, cultures, nations and eventually the whole world. The worst possible explanation in support of abortion is provided by the very people who are fervent and passionate supporters of it. A lot of rallies, seminars and newspaper articles have been written by these fanatics and they just seem to outnumber the people who are against this law which forbids giving human life to the newborn, one who was about to set his or her first little feet in this beautiful world. Clinical depression is another aspect that arises from abortion. Clinical depression is also known as unipolar disorder or major depressive disorder. This kind of depression is a psychiatric disease which hurts the inner basis of a woman, so much so that she becomes dependent on her life events for her mood to shape up. She loses interest in day to day activities and does not feel the right experience of pleasure whilst performing a number of tasks throughout the day. Because of this, people try to avoid the discussion related with abortion and thus they prefer to remain quiet over the whole issue. They, somehow or the other, wish that this reality could be avoided as far as their lives are concerned. Having said all this, the motivation behind carrying out this act needs to be documented in a proper manner before we study further about abortion. A number of people have started to become pretty apathetic as concerns to the issue of abortion and they just do not seem to care for it anymore. They feel that since this issue does not seem to surface in their own lives, they would not seem to care about it even once. After all, no one cares about other’s baby more than their own. Thus it would not be wrong to state that there is a general lack of human value within the lives of the people. They just do not seem to care and more than that are not pushed to do something about the very same. They seem to care about the more pertinent issues in their lives which need their direct and immediate attention. A person who loves kids and cannot seem to overcome with the joy and happiness that he or she sees in their eyes would never ever think of legalizing abortion in the first place. Come to think of it. A little child in your hand is a world full of innocence, happiness and joy. One needs to experience the same to find it out for sure. The leaders and judicial components within the different nations of the world need to take a stand on this issue as both the lives of the mother and the one who is about to set feet in this world are in danger. This cannot go on just like that. (Rossier, 2003) There needs to be some legal perspective in this regard which must be implemented no matter what the circumstances are like. Indeed the act of abortion is a tragedy to say the least. One cannot just run away from life like that. One needs truth to be at the heart of such decisions. Looking deep down one’s spine can make him or her understand whether the act that is going to be committed or one that has already been carried out was right or otherwise and then only one can reap lessons for the future of his or her own self and the whole of mankind. There is thus a solid basis available as per the legalization of it being disallowed in different societies of the world. It is an inhuman act which needs to be curbed no matter how difficult the repercussions turn out to be. The public opinion is a significant barometer of what the people actually suggest about this subject. Public opinion polls have generally varied across a stratum of society. It has taken into consideration the aspects of area by area, region by region and country by country accounts of people with regards to this controversial issue. In fact controversy and abortion have gone along together since time immemorial. The countries which consider abortion illegal have usually allowed abortion to happen in cases where rape, incest or peril could cause a pregnant woman’s life or even health conditions. These countries would generally allow certain leeway only under differing circumstances and would look to avoid the whole related topic in a broad manner. The nations that have gone on a rampage against abortion and term it as illegal include Nicaragua, Chile, Malta, El Salvador and Bangladesh to name a few. In the end, it would be pretty wise to suggest here that abortions need to be studied in the light of a broader context. The society has a huge role to play here as it can enact certain boundaries which cannot in any way be broken free off by its followers and inhabitants. Moreover, the parents need to sit down and talk to each other and then decide whether they should go on and commit this slain since who knows the child that they are about to murder might just be the next President of the United States and save the lives of a million people. (Segers, 1995) This needs pretty serious thinking as well as understanding on the part of each one of us barring none. As for abortion, I believe that they are pretty personal to one’s own self and must not be discussed in the light of the general people. Specifically, each one of us has his or her own likes and dislikes and it is for a man or a woman to decide whether a particular facet, which is considered as ‘taboo’ by the rest of the society, is good for this individual or otherwise. All said and done, abortion is too critical a topic to be discussed in public and it must be properly addressed within the limits of the law and legislation must be carried out on it in an adequate manner before any decision is reached on its validity basis or otherwise, when one talks of an area, region, country or society for that matter.
