thodology employing pre- and post-testing to determine the relationship between the independent variables and dependent variables within a specifically targeted school population. This design will be experimental with pre- and post-testing analysis. The diagram below indicates the quantitative experimental research design of the study. Population - Research participants will be selected from all third grade students in a selected school districts in the greater metropolitan area (approximately 800 total students), to allow for a statistically significant sample.

Sampling Procedure – A clustering technique will be used for the sampling procedure by dividing the population sample into segments and randomly selecting a sample. Three third grade classrooms containing approximately 90 students were selected on the basis of the teachers volunteering to participate in the study. Data Analysis Procedure – It is anticipated that multiple assessments will be used for data triangulation by comparing pre- and post-tests to map gains, and statistical analysis will be used to evaluate growth results.

Validity – The study will measure internal validity to see if there was an impact from the research. This includes evaluation of variable threats including effects of the testing, history, instrumentation, maturation, selection, statistical regression, and loss of respondents. External validity issues include reactive effects of testing, interaction of biases, and effects of the testing arrangements. This quantitative research is designed to evaluate Autistic children in the general education classroom and the impact of mainstreaming, inclusion, and pull out options.

Participants are selected from standard classrooms and will be randomly assigned to treatment and control groups. Instrumentation consists of standard pre- and post-testing in the area of academic, psychological, neurological, and sensory-motor development. Data will be collected and analyzed from the state
