when compared to other countries in the European region means that in the future the United Kingdom may not have an adequately educated population – thus such increases in costs will be detrimental to the future of the United Kingdom.
Having said the above the objective of this particular research study is to understand the break up of costs that are incurred by students who pursue higher education and to understand if there is a difference in the amount of debt and expenses that are carried by individuals based on their gender or age. In this research study we also aim to understand the optimism or concern shown by individuals with regard to their levels of debt.
Due to the increases in the cost of higher education many poorer individuals have been found to opt out of higher education (Galindo-Rueda, Fernando, Oscar Marcenaro-Gutierrez, and Anna Vignoles, 2004). The study that was carried out to study the connection between socio economic standing and higher education found that when compared to the number of students opting for higher education in the 1994 from low socio economic backgrounds – those opting for higher education in 2001 have been significantly less and this was found to be a direct result of the increase in the cost of higher education and the cost of all related expenses such as traveling, living expenses and accommodation that resulted in an individual pursuing higher education.
Further it was found in another study that due to the increase in the costs of higher education the number of students looking for work to supplement their income or help their families with the cost of their education were on the increase. By working extra hours than usual during term time, the students believed they could reduce the debt burden or help out their families who were bearing the cost of their higher education (Metcalf, 2005).

The educational system in UK reflects inequalities on various levels. Many studies and researches have been conducted on the issue, and the statistics indicate a shocking result as far as the unfair treatment of the system is concerned. The education system of UK has many issues and reflects inequalities based on the gender, class, race and poverty.
These students expect to gain a lot in these educational institutions but various issues concerned with gender, ethnicity, race and social class emerge that affect educational achievement and shape the future of these students. However, if managed well by faculty members education could be fruitful for all candidates irrespective of their social class, gender or ethnicity.
Those include, tuition fees of universities, debt pressures caused by it, cost of living which in turn affecting the academics of the student. To top it all, the government policies and decisions which decide on the status of all other issues.
According to a survey conducted by the Higher Education Policy Institute (Hepi), about 15000 students were surveyed including both first year and second year students.
These apprehensions include the failure of the government to broaden education access to every individual in various constituencies in the society, the unaffordable cost and tuition fees imposed by academic institutions in England, the need for funding and the reduction of bureaucracy in the processing of funding application,2 and other necessary reforms that the government need to introduce in order to provide opportunity for many individuals in England to acquire higher education.
There would only be approximately two percent of tenured faculties that may be dismissed in a typical year. It is extremely difficult to get fired from being tenure and equally as difficult to become tenure. The probationary period to achieve tenure is estimated to be approximately three years for community colleges and seven years at four-year colleges or universities.
The quality of teaching, the standard of research activity, increasing enterprise and entrepreneurship has become the mark of this sector. To advance these latter activities, universities have established strong collaborative ventures with regional development agencies, governmental offices and a range of private, voluntary and public sector organizations.
