1. A college education is an important life changing experience that transforms a human being by enhancing their skills and abilities. A person receives training for the challenges of the workplace through the rigorous education experience a college program provides for students. It is an investment in both time and monetary resources, thus finding a good university that is recognized for its academic excellence is important. I want to get the most out my college experience and would like to attend a college campus that can provide me with an excellent faculty, research opportunities, and a learning atmosphere that will inspire me to become the professional I can be. These are some of the reasons why I would like to attend George Washington University. An education organization that has been providing a service to the community for 188 years is a place with the tradition and experience that I seek from a university campus. I follow basketball and have been a fan of the school’s basketball team for the last five years. I have heard good things about the quality of the education this school provides. My counselor recommended this school to me. I already knew the about the university through its sporting program, but never realized about the possibility of becoming a student. The school website was informative an allowed to learn about many aspects of what the college experience entails. I like the fact the schools place a lot of importance in community service and volunteer work. I would like to get involve in these types of extracurricular activities that can enhance my interpersonal skills and personal development as a human being. I like the fact the schools enabled students to keep up with the current news and alumni affairs through its very informative website. The school’s internet portal was a great tool that provided me with a good overview of what George Washington University can do for my future. I like the campus facilities, security, and medical center capabilities. It is important to go to a college where you feel safe and welcomed. In order to be able to be effective in one’s study routines a person need to be in an environment where you feel like at home. When I visited the University last summer I felt like this a place where I wanted to be the next four years of my life. A college education is an investment that lasts a lifetime. Attending a great college institution such as George Washington University will help my professional future by opening many job opportunities for me in the future. I know it will take a lot of hard work from me, but I’m highly motivated to improve my abilities as a person. Going to a place such as GWU will provide me with the best chance of achieve my primary goal in life right now to earn a bachelor’s degree. 2. Vassar University is an educational institution with close to 150 of tradition and experience serving the needs of young aspiring students worldwide. The university focuses on liberal arts which is one of my areas of interest. As I read more about the University from its very adept organization website I learn about of good qualities the college offers to its alumni. The classroom for courses at Vassar at capped at a maximum of 17 students per classroom. This is good trait since the professor can give their student a more personalized tough than what other university offer when they have to deal with 30-40 students per classroom. The diversity of the student alumni also inspired me since I would get a change to interact with people from various ethnical backgrounds. Diversity has become an import human resource subject in the corporate world that can be exploited to improve the productivity of companies worldwide. I like Vassar small student population of 2450 students. This type of environment creates an atmosphere in which everyone on has a better chance to know each other. In large university with population of 20,000 + students an individual student becomes a number and does not get the personalized treatment they deserve from school officials. The selection criteria of limiting the amount of applicants that enter Vassar means the students that are accepted are unique individuals with great potential to become leaders in our society. The campus facilities are beautiful and provide a balance between nature and great designs in the architecture of its buildings which utilizes styles such as gothic and modernism. The school population control enables its college alumni the opportunity to fully integrate themselves with the campus, evident by the fact that 98% of the alumni live on campus. The libraries facility which is a location I planned to use a lot to perform my studies are technological advance and provide a very good supply of educational materials which can help any student perform the research the need for class projects. I like the hospitality of the workers in the library; they seem like professionals that were there to serve the needs of the students. Ultimately the quality of the education and the facilities layout of Vassar are the primary reasons I would like to become a part of the student alumni of this prestigious university. 3. I have always been a good student who has place a high level of importance in the value of formal education. During my high school years I had two educational experiences the really inspired me and taught me a lot about the world and about my future as professional. The first experience was reading the autobiography of Malcolm X. This book was very powerful and taught me about the historic events that took place during the civil movement. Malcolm found with all his heart to stop the injustices and prejudice society at the time had against afro-American citizens. His methods may have been unorthodox and aggressive at times, but he did what he had to do to survive in a society that need a strong personality like him to move the masses and raise awareness among minorities that what US society and governmental institution were allowing is not proper human behavior. After reading this story I gain a greater perspective of society as a whole. I know in the future if I ever see an injustice at work I will stand for what I believe in and will confront any person irrelevant of their position in the company if they action are unethical, improper, and unacceptable based on normal societal expectations of how we treat each other as human beings. A second education experience which really changed my perspective of what education is all about was group project I performed with 4 other of my classmates in high school for a social studies class. It was one of the first times in my life that I was exposed to work independently in a team setting. I have heard that the workplace in the 21st has changed a lot and teamwork has become the normal operating standard because it can provide greater production that what single worker can produce individually. It was one tough at the begging working in this team setting because everyone had different opinions of how we should proceed. We argued for two three days about the best way to approach the project. Eventually one person in the group rose as the leader and everyone seem to agree with the opinions of this person. This individual was able to calm everyone emotion and integrate the different ideas of the team members to formulate a plan of action. It sure felt good being the leader of this team project. I was very proud of myself. The end result of this educational experience was that everyone learned that communication was the most important aspect of the entire exercise. The actual output of the project did not have as much importance as the process of interaction with other human beings in team project which helped the students enhance their communication, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills. I know that in college I will get plenty of opportunities to work in team settings to continue to develop my social skills to improve my effectiveness in these types of situations in the future. 4. Brown University is a school that was founded in 1764 meaning it has a rich tradition of academic excellence for over 245 years. The school is an Ivy League University which gives the institution and its graduates greater recognition and prestige once they reach the workplace. I want be part of a university that can provide me with the best quality education I can possible attain. I understand to achieve my goal I have to my forth my best possible efforts, but the combination of my motivation and desire to succeed and the quality education product Brown offers is a formula for success. Like many young I am really sure what exactly I want to study yet, but some my interest include business administration, liberal arts or engineering. Brown University has great variety of programs which will give the opportunity to decide among many different major opportunities. I have heard that typical a student never ends up graduating in major they initially selecting and that after graduation a lot of people end up working is a different industry than their selected field of study. This information eases my mind and relieves the early pressure on selecting a specific major I will commit too in the long term. It was also interest for me to read in Brown official website that 300 of the graduates of the class of 2007 complete double major. Maybe this is something I might pursue since I have lots of interest in learning different things. Other numbers I read from the website such as the fact that Brown University graduates 95% of its students within six years is fantastic information that gives a lot of confidence in the capabilities of the faculty of educating the young minds that attend Brown University. A university that is committed to graduating the majority of its alumni is a place that cares about the interest of the student body. The quality of the education and overall campus environment motivated me to apply at Brown University. 5. Brown University is a higher learning institution with a great reputation for its academic excellence. I had heard from some of my relatives that this would be good school for me to attend. When I was my high school consoler about the institution he had nothing, but good things to say about the college. I decided to perform my own research before making a decision to apply to Brown University. The best resource which helped me in my decision to apply to Brown was the school official website.. I wanted to know about housing availability and the website specified over 80% of the students are able to live on campus while attending college. The website showed me there is a great offering of different study programs to choose from. The student life section of the internet portal showed me how the university has a fun and professional environment for students which will help its member find a good balance between study and your personal life. The information I was able to retrieve from the website was the determining factor that interest in applying to Brown University. 6. As a young person living in the 21st century I realized the importance of a college education. The world has changed a lot and in developed countries such as the United States and the European community the economic system has changed from a manufacturing model to a knowledge economy. In this new knowledge economy workers must have adequate technical skills and wider amount of knowledge about the industry in which they work to be able to satisfy the demands of companies. A college education is a must to succeed in life in the long term. It is an investment in time and money. Choosing the right educational institution is also very important because the quality of the education one receives determine the knowledge that is acquired to be applied in the workplace. I want to attend to top notch educational institution which is why I decided to apply to Boston University. Boston University is a institution which was founded in 1869 and since its inception it has had very liberal policies that have open up educational opportunities for groups in our society that were discriminated against by others. The University provided equal opportunities to minorities and women long before programs such as affirmative action were created. Among the icons attended Boston College include Martin Luther King. I would like to be part of a university with such high ethical standards. I like the classic style of the school buildings which are beautiful and inspiring. The environment, security, and overall quality of the facilities are important factors a student must consider in make a decision of a college campus to attend. Boston University exceeds many other universities in all of these three key factors. My college education is something I take very seriously. In order to become to professional I desire to become I need the guidance and assistance of University that cares about the well-being of its alumni. Boston University provide me with a great selection of study programs, a great on-campus studying atmosphere, and an excellent faculty that can develop by cognitive and analytical abilities so that can become a valuable human capital asset for business in the future. In life on of the biggest decision a person has to make is making the commitment and sacrifice of attending college and choosing an institution such as Boston University will only enhance a student’s changes of reaching their full potential. 7. I realize that in the competitive job marketplace of the 21st century it is imperative for me to obtain a college education. I have noticed that the corporate standards and ethical behavior in the United States and abroad have gone down significantly. I need to attend a university that will not only provide me solid academic foundation, but that will it teach me the right ethical values that are need to become a true professional. The University of San Francisco can provide me with what in need to succeed in life. The mission of this university goes beyond teaching the basic principles of particular academic disciplines, it also emphasizes on teaching high moral values that can applied in the workplace to improve the quality of life of all the stakeholders on an organization.
