Effective communication with s and staff One of my strengths as a potential store manager is that I have developed high communication skills which can be applied in the context of the relationships with the customers and the staff. My listening skills will enable me to focus on the customers’ needs, expectations or requirements and will allow me to address their issues efficiently and effectively. In addition to that I have a general disposition towards being kind and friendly to the clients, which will help me build upon relationships with them. In terms of the personnel, my team work – orientation combined with the strong leadership disposition will enhance the two-way communication with the employees/staff in an attempt foster participation and develop discussions with them upon any subject that is critical for the well functioning of the store. Demonstration of a strong customer focus and competence in dealing with customer queries and complaints I am a customer – oriented person and I fully realize that any business environment needs to be designed under the scope of serving customers’ needs and expectations. I believe that the customer lies at the core of managements’ concern and agenda and for this reason I am focused on delivering customer satisfaction by being willing to listen to their complaints, eager to find solutions to their addressed problems and focused to delivering overall customer satisfaction. I have strong interpersonal skills which allow me to sympathize with others and understand their concerns or queries while at the same time I am confident in my interactions with the customers. Be self motivated and show initiative I am a goal – and – performance oriented person and I am intrinsically motivated to achieve organizational objectives. I enjoy working in an environment that offers interactions on both levels – customers and employees – and I have developed strong communication skills. My leadership orientation will offer significant advantages to the store as I can inspire and motivate others to share a common vision for the company and the company’s goals and objectives. Through team work I can empower employees to engage to the organization and participate so as to achieve strategically and effectively the mission targeted. Prioritize workload to effectively meet deadlines I am a multi task oriented individual and I have developed strong critical thinking that allows me to apply prioritization of works and tasks on the basis of importance and vitality to the overall operations that need to be implemented. Undertaking responsibility is my most important advantage which enables me to efficiently manage various tasks or projects simultaneously while at the same time succeeding in meeting deadlines. I can work effectively under pressure of both resources – costs and time – and thus I am capable of being efficient in any situation that calls for strategic decision making under the scope of completing projects. Project a professional image at all times I fully understand that a store manager needs to reflect professional image in all endeavors. My appearance greatly enhances my professional look as I realize that appropriate dressing and proper selection of apparel reflect to a great extend the degree of professionalism that one projects. In addition to that, I am very confident in my interaction with others and I can engage into formal or informal practices adjusted to the situation in account. Finally, I aim a consistent and integrated person which is reflected in all my relationships and I can undertake responsibilities for which I am certain that I can adhere to. Effectively supervise and train staff on a daily bases to ensure company policies and procedures are being adhered to My leadership skills and my ability to understand employees’ needs as well as capabilities allow me to effectively manage staff training by focusing on individuals separately and allocating works and tasks to each employee strategically. Monitoring the processes and the completion of staff is critical and ensures that the high levels of performance are maintained. Training is vital to the employees’ performance and for this I am willing to commit to staff’s learning and implementing job requirements. With regards to policies and procedures, I realize that all individuals should comply with those and I will ensure this by communicating the policies to the employees in order for them to understand their purpose of existence and the benefits that are attached to them. Demonstrate previous experience of ordering, stocktake and rostering systems Ordering, stocktaking and rostering systems are essential for the well functioning of stores and the maximization of efficiency with regards to both costs and time. My previous experience in ordering has fully equipped me with the ability to monitor and keep detailed record of the products that are fast selling and which eventually need strategic relationships with suppliers. With regards to stocktaking my experience has allowed me to effectively deal with monitoring stock performance and recording stock movement in order to maintain stock storage on the basis of the company’s policies. Finally in terms of rostering systems my previous experience involves the allocation of staff in proper shifts and the allocation of duties, responsibilities with regards to stocktaking to separate teams as a means of inducing efficiency. Demonstrate an awareness and consideration for a safe working environment Designing a proper working environment is very critical in maintaining safety for the employees and staff. I realize that for each individual task or work there need to be certain measures undertaken in order to ensure safe procedures being implemented. Training is very important in the creation and development of a safe environment and needs to be operated under the scope of providing the basis for ‘working safely’ within the boundaries of work processes or functions. Safety guidelines and policies need to be explicitly communicated to the employees and I as a manager need to ensure that these guidelines are understood and followed by virtually every member of the organization. Consistently maintain a high standard of housekeeping in your department My orientation towards a safe working environment also includes the provision of a clean and healthy workplace for the employees as well as a nice environment for the customers. The appointment of housekeeping units that can deliver the objectives is very essential. As a manager I will be able to provide directions and responsibilities regarding housekeeping and maintenance that pertain to an on-going basis. During working hours all areas of the department need to be clean. Also there needs to be continuous inspection of those areas in order to ensure that standards are maintained at all times. Have an eye for detail and sense of urgency to achieve results Maintaining high urgency is essential and vital to a performance and goal oriented disposition. I believe that placing emphasis in every detail eventually results in more consistent and integrated approach to achieving results. I have managed to develop high levels of urgency (without this implying anxiety or stress) towards accomplishing the goals and getting things right. I am a practical person that expects tangible outcomes and results in order to satisfy the eagerness for success and successful performance.
