There is the Global Environmental Monitoring System(GEMS) which includes health-related monitoring, climate-related monitoring, monitoring of long-range transport, renewable natural resources, ocean pollution. As for information exchange, it contains 2 systems: The International Register for Potentially Toxic Chemicals (IRPTC) and INFOTERRA. There are many programs which deal with Earthwatch evaluation, among them are the work of the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effect of Atomic Radiation, the Monitoring and Assessment Research Center (MARC), the work of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).Global Environmental Health Problems include repetitive local problems and problems of global extend. The characteristics of local problems differ from one place to another. Governments have established legal controls according to the local problems, but there is the OECD State of the Environment report, where OECD member countries solve common pollution problems. The problems with global character need more careful assessment and screening procedures. Many international organizations, for example TSCA in the USA, establish and control these processes. In future global pollution forecasting will be improved, though it can be a real challenge to UNEP and other organizations which deal with pollution, it’s causes and results. UNEP can establish global alerts or watches.
As for me, I like this article. I also think that the best way to solve pollution problems is to forecast them and take all necessary measures for their liquidation. Assessing the health risks of global pollution is a burning problem and main aim of nowadays, because it helps to detect potential risks, remove and minimize them. It also can alert about accidents and disasters, possibility of infliction of harm to people, can give characteristics of the potential risks. Such organizations as UNEP work on providing safety from pollution disasters, their influence on
