There is the Global Environmental Monitoring System(GEMS) which includes health-related monitoring, climate-related monitoring, monitoring of long-range transport, renewable natural resources, ocean pollution. The problems with global character need more careful assessment and screening procedures. Many international organizations, for example TSCA in the USA, establish and control these processes. In future global pollution forecasting will be improved, though it can be a real challenge to UNEP and other organizations which deal with pollution, it’s causes and results.
