In addition, the present business and corporate operations for the General Electric are functioning using traditional decentralized structure of working. In this scenario the current business of the General Electric Business is having decentralized business management structures those are totally disconnected to other departments.

Therefore, there is less facility of data sharing as well as management of the business systems is complex. In this way the web based supply chain is completely disconnected from other departments. In addition, the business uses traditional ways of management to carry out business activities. In this case the web based operational structure is not so good and not offering effective management to the web based sales and supply chain.Organization Impacts: the old legacy system is not having an effective organizational structure.

Therefore, the traditional ways of business management are not offering effective facility regarding business management and supply chain management. In addition, the organizational structure is not offering any rapid business dealing, supply chain management, and check and balance for the overall business operational and dealing management (Wikinvest, 2009). Business Impacts: In case of old technology at General Electric Business is not having effective competitive edge on the other businesses.

In addition, the business of General Electric is still facing a lot of problems regarding the business management and corporate handling. Furthermore, the traditional business is not offering effective dealing and management of the internal and external business aspects like supplier management, client handling, contracts management, project handling, etc (Wikinvest, 2009).Technology Impacts: In case of old technology at General Electric Business the overall management and handling technological systems is not efficient and flexible.

The old technology platforms management, their updates, modifications, and extensions become so harder and lead to higher services cost and more time regarding overall update to the technology platforms (FundingUniverse, 2009; Wikinvest, 2009). Constraints: in case of old legacy systems and decentralized technology at General Electric Business is offering lot of constraints and problems about the technology and business. In case of technology there are problems regarding the different formats of data that cannot be converted into a single format for carrying out analysis and handling the systems.

On the other hand the old technology is not effective in case of better operational management dealing with business operations. Furthermore, the less flexibility in sharing of business data can lead to complex and traditional time consuming ways for the overall operations management and business handling (Wikinvest, 2009). In case of new technology platforms implementation at General Electric business will be able to carry out business activities more effectively. In addition, the new structure will offer rapid request management and fast order processing.

Additionally, in case of web based supply chain management the business will be able to offer the business a more convent supply chain management and order processing. Also, the customer will also be able to have a more quick order selection and rapid order tacking. Thus, this will enhance the business market value.
