Levene, a brilliant salesman, is in a jam. He has suffered losses and somehow wishes to come-out of his precarious position, no matter how he does it. Moral and ethics of business do not matter for him. He recalls his contribution to the progress of the company in the past boastfully and avails every opportunity to belittle the credentials of Williamson, his respected colleague in another department.
Williamson is at peace with his departmental work. He doesnt have to handle the pressure of sales. No botheration of dealing with the clients. He executes orders of his superior authorities. He gets a fixed pay. The sales personnel have a grudge against him for his rigid approach to business.
