One can see that manmade disasters exert much more pressure upon ecological balance. Within this context, global warming can be termed as manmade disaster which affects the whole world. The issues related to global warming, originating from human encroachment upon nature is a burning issue. The current global warming issues force the world nations to consider the long term issues with ample seriousness. Thesis statement: long term global warming issues can be tackled with the help of simplest, smartest, most effective and efficient solutions (special reference to long -term global warming issues). Discussion: current global warming issues The topic under discussion is current issues related to global warming. First of all, one can see that human encroachment upon nature and indiscriminative abuse of natural resources leads to ecological imbalance. Besides, the current issues related to global warming is deeply related to burning of fossil fuels and green house gas emission. Both these reasons behind global warming are closely connected to human encroachment upon nature. The most important issue related to global warming is climate change. Besides, the current global warming issues are interconnected. For instance, rise in global temperature leads to melting of snow in North and South poles and it eventually leads to rise in sea levels. Stephen H. Schneider makes clear that global warming may result in gradual sea level rise and flood in coastal areas (Schneider, 1990, p.160). Another issue related to global warming is extreme weather events. One can see that extreme weather events exert much pressure upon global population. Besides, rapid change in rainfall and uncertain climate affects nations in arid/semi-arid regions. From a different angle of view, rapid increase in global average temperature is beneficial to some regions. At the same time, some other regions are affected by increase in global average temperature. But generally, developing and underdeveloped nations are forced to suffer the far-reaching consequences of global warming and related issues. The current global warming issues can be divided into two: global and local. The global issues include problems originating from rising temperature. For instance, rising temperature melts ice deposit in north and south poles and it eventually leads to increase in global average temperature. This issue cannot be limited to any national boundary. All the human beings are forced to face the aftereffects of global warming. The local issues like melting of ice, flood etc exerts much pressure in regional level. When the ice deposit in mountain ranges etc melts, the whole region will be forced to face flood and famine. As pointed out earlier, issues originating from global warming can be termed under manmade disasters. Earlier, snow covered areas in Northern and Southern hemispheres helped to balance sea level. When the global temperature became high, the snow deposits in Northern and Southern hemispheres began to melt. This phenomenon resulted in sea level rise and threatened almost all the coastal areas. The other issues which can be termed under current global warming are ozone layer depletion and negative impact upon biodiversity and global ecosystem. Trausti Valsson states that current global warming issues rapidly change the global weather which negatively influences the natural world (Valsson, 2006, p. 7). As pointed out earlier, exploitation of natural resources for centuries, especially the non-renewable resources created ecological imbalance. For instance, high rate of green house gas emission due to rapid industrialization depleted the ozone layer. On the other side, burning of fossil fuels polluted the atmosphere. But now, the whole world is facing problems originating from global warming. So, one can see that climate change is the most important issue which originated from global warming. All the global warming issues are interconnected with each other and exert much pressure upon the global community as a whole. The after effects of long term global warming deeply influence the ecological balance of the earth. So, it is important to inculcate innovative methods to tackle long term global warming. One can see that formulating simplest, smartest, effective and effective solutions for tackling long term global warming issues is a tiresome task. The developed nations are not ready to give up the benefits of industrialization. David D. On the other side, the developing and under-developed nations are trying hard to enjoy the benefits of industrialization and development. The following are the possible ways to tackle long term global warming. 1. First of all, there must be a strong international leadership to tackle long term global warming. This responsibility must be vested upon developed nations with ample economical back up. 2. There must be strict control upon burning fossil fuels for industrial purpose (this may be difficult for developed nations but it is the most important step to tackle long term global warming). 3. Planting more trees can reduce ozone layer depletion. So, initiative must be taken to create awareness among world nations on the importance of ‘green planet’. 4. Creating awareness among world nations that over exploitation of non-renewable resources cause rise in average global temperature and related issues. 5. There must be global co-operation beyond national boundaries to create economic back up for environmental protection. 6. Individuals must take initiative to save themselves and their future generations from the after effects of global warming. One must realize that after effects of global warming cannot be totally eradicated but can be reduced to an extent. 7. The world nations must realize that sustainable development is the best possible way to attain development without affecting nature. 8. The role of United Nations and its bodies like UNEP and WMO in tackling long term global warming issues is significant. 9. There must be global partnership in formulating, implementing and assessing effectiveness of international laws and regulations on global warming. 10. Usage of wind energy instead of fossil fuels will be helpful to tackle long term global warming issues. Summing, climate change is most important among global warming issues.
