Phil Jones – the director of the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia was interviewed by Roger Harrabin regarding any signs of statistically significant in the global warming from 1860 up to 2009 (Harrabin, 2009). In line with this, the validity of the…
The news report did not mention the kind of statistical procedure used in the study. As mentioned in the news report, I agree that it is valid and necessary to combine land and marine temperature in order to measure the average global temperature. Basically, the temperature in land and marine areas are different from each other during day and night. The idea of combining the temperature of land and marine areas is to enable the statistician determine the average global temperature within a given time frame.
To determine whether a statistic is statistically significant, it is necessary to get the difference between a sample statistic and a specific population parameter (numerator) before dividing the value by the standard error (denominator) (Urdan, 2005, p. 64). For this reason, it is more difficult to confirm the statistical procedures as mentioned in the news report is valid given that the length of years used in each period of time varies from one another.
and vice versa. It means that when the sample size is small, bigger the standard error will be. Since a bigger sample size will have smaller standard error, there is a higher probability that the research findings will be statistically significant because of the bigger value as a result. Because of the effects of sample size in determining whether a hypothesis is statistically significant or not, Urdan (2005) explained that it is possible that a small difference between the sample statistic and population parameter to be statistically significant provided that the sample size is big (p. 64). This concept was confirmed by Phil Jones when he explained that it is more likely to achieve a statistically significance given that the available data is good for a very long period of time (Harrabin, 2009, question B).
When asked whether the global warming between 1860 – 1880, 1910 – 1940, and 1975 – 1998 were identical, the ...

LaShannon Hunt conducted a research study entitled “Child Protection Workers: Psychological Disorders and Symptoms” in 2005. The research work was published by the Western Kentucky University and is also available online. The research study is based on a cross-sectional survey using a 66-items quantitative survey instrument that was conducted among the child protection workers associated with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services in Warren County, Kentucky.
News reports and surveys mention that many young people follow a miserable life having the painful tug of war with mixed ideas and conflicting demands from their parents, teachers, classmates and other people whom they communicate. The term stress is illustrated by feelings of frustration, tension, worry, sadness, anxiety and gradual withdrawal from social establishments that last from few hours to a few days (What You Should Know about Anxiety Disorders, 2006).

An overall evaluation of the newspaper’s approach to the particular issues is that the newspaper uses a direct tackle of the issues starting from the titles of the articles. The titles state clearly what issues they will be tackling leading the way to an in depth understanding of the issues in the newspaper, which is very effective and attention-grabbing for any reader.
The final outcome can be in form of plot, an equation derived or the net value. The effect so determined is in form of casual relationship between two variables, where the upward shoot or downward shoot in the value directly affects the other variable. Regression analysis finds large number of principles and applications in economics.
On the other hand, critics of the global warming alarmists co-exist and also having with them scientific justifications that would help them prove that global warming is a natural phenomenon. For them, it is not man made, but something that nature orchestrates even from the past, which has become their reliable justifications on the issue about global warming.
Thus, prior to any statistical analysis, computing for the corresponding percentile rank of each grade in the dataset would give an idea of the grade distribution for the population.
Data from Table 1 shows that 51% of the students scored below the Grade 11 Math Score of 252 indicating that half of the populations may be having difficulty with the subject.
The result was aimed at identifying which factors best predict hynotizability, along with the effect of time on hypnotizability. A series of correlations were used to investigate which factors best predict hynotizability and t-tests were implemented to see the
