But now trait theory refers to the external behavior, particular personality and behavioral characteristics much depending on the internal beliefs and thinking power of a leader. Their main examples are: self-assurance, self-confidence, feelings and good decision making skills. Traits are the key features of the leadership. Edwin Ghiselli (1971) identified six traits for an effective leadership. These are: supervisory ability, need for occupational achievement, intelligence, decisiveness, self-assurance, initiative. Lot of researchers worked to explain the perfect traits for the leadership but still now no universal set of leadership traits exists. For the specific situation in a managerial program specific traits are required for effective output.
