Judea Declares War On Germany On March 24, 1933, tabloids from different parts of the world screamed “Judea Declares WarOn Germany”; moreover, it called for all Jews of the world to unite. If you read carefully the news and some of the articles, you would observe one thing: almost all industries are ran by Jews. Germany at that time was going through an economic crisis so the declaration was really a surprise. I was also surprised to see such a document which is a facsimile of the original British newspaper.

First, I never realized that Jews were very powerful during that time- financially and politically. Imagine, thousands of Jews in the US forming assemblies to bring down Germany on its knees through an economic boycott. The thing that shocked me was the fact that Jews were always represented as poor, helpless people on movies about the Holocaust. This piece of information in history actually confused me because it changed my ideas about the Jews. Another thing that I can say about this article is that the way the news was written seems biased.

The news did not seem to report only the facts because it was followed by articles with words about “Hitler’s terror”. If I were reading that newspaper that time, my opinion against the Germans would also be influenced negatively because I would feel that they are bad people. The lesson that I can learn from this article is that people should be conscious of their accusations against another group of people because they may not want the consequences later. Indeed, the world has learned a lesson from the Holocaust.

After reading the transcript, I had mixed emotions because I felt guilt, betrayal, and sadness. It was very confusing since if Freeman was altogether right, then Germany had the right to feel so bad about the whole thing. Nevertheless, it is not right to say also that Holocaust is morally right because many innocent Jews have died.

Even if the Jews connived with other countries to bring down Germany, the people who died on the Holocaust did not deserve such death. The only confusing thing for me was the authenticity of Freedman’s statements. If I were to compare it with the articles about Judea’s declaration of war, I could say that both are propaganda because these writings are biased. Freedman’s speech sowed fear in the hearts of people listening at that time. They have the right to feel that way because people felt traumatized after going through two world wars.

However, what people missed out is the ability to think critically and evaluate the motives behind Freedman’s statement. What is the lesson to be learned here? First, students must be trained by their schools to think critically so they know how to react to such propaganda. Second, people should learn their lessons from the past by thinking ahead about their actions. The world today hasn’t changed and we are always on the brink of war. I hope people have learned how to analyze the events before making any crucial decisions.

I really hope so. History has already taught us many costly lessons.
