Public health core function & Section Number of Introduction As threat of HIV/AIDS has increased so are the responsibilities of State Public Health agencies, they are playing a role very uniquely, also essential in order to provide precautionary measures from HIV/AIDS. These agencies are bided with the law and they are responsible for fulfilling responsibilities like prevention and epidemiology, surveillance for disease, and also deliver the primary health care services. They are the one making decisions, and they have four core functions on which they work.

These are briefly discussed in this report.Core Functions of State Public HealthThis part of the report discusses the three core functions and answers the questions briefly.AssessmentThis function is related to gather the information regarding community health issues and to maintain the health status in the local community. In order to monitor, information regarding health issues and causes for having health hazardous elements is gathered. Agency is responsible for collecting the data on regular basis to find out the current pattern of illness and share the collective knowledge with the upper authorities so that appropriate measures can be taken to prevent the health hazardous elements (FDNU, 2011).

State Health Departments have developed a system to collect the information and process it from individual who are suffering from HIV/AIDS and also monitors the pattern divided demographically. The information is kept very confidentially and is processed with confidentiality to plan accordingly to prevent the disease in the local community (NASTAD, 2007). Policy DevelopmentState Health Departments ensures the development of policies in regard to prevent the spread of this disease. The departments also monitor different policies and ensure the adequate monitoring of such policies.

Most of the developed policies are to prevent the elements which cause this disease and also make it sure that individuals suffering from such diseases are able to avail the proper treatment (FDNU, 2011). State Public Health departments also make it sure that local government is also supporting their steps to implement different policies like partner notification program and also to protect the confidentiality of individuals suffering from HIV/AIDS . Policies include many different programs like to educate the people of every age so that they can take the precautionary measures; by this the departments are able to provide better services even without the duplication of hard work.

More policies are to be developed to prevent this disease from spreading like to create awareness (FDNU, 2011).AssuranceState Public Health departments also supports in terms of monetary and financially to education programs that are targeted and provide outreach activities for individuals covering the entire local community. These education programs are very wide ranged and comprises of every precautionary motives that are possible to provide. These programs are based on peer education, educational services in different languages, inducing African American and also conduct activities on risk reduction (NASTAD, 2007).

These programs are ran through an appropriate planning and also make it sure that adequate monitoring is also being done, and for this these departments conduct surveillance activities to measure and monitor the feedbacks from programs, changes in illness pattern and current situation of the local community (FDNU, 2011). ConclusionState Public Health departments are very much effective in what they doing, they have managed to prevent the disease from spreading and the individuals are provided with adequate treatment.

The departments are responsible for monitoring the local community to gather the information process it to gain knowledge about the process and than through appropriate planning educational activities are conducted and monitored to make sure the delivery of desired goals.
