I wish to submit my appeal to drop the aforementioned course that is taught by (Put the name of your Professsor).I am late in dropping this course because the situation that is facing me right now was not foreseen.

I have been undergoing a transition phase in my social life and this slightly affected my school organization. This is my first semester as a married student and it is in the phase of this shift in my social organization that caused me to face some slight slowness in class attendance as I am trying to settle my family down and to design a schedule that will both favor my family and my school life as I have to accomplish both concurrently. My family and my in-laws have been visiting all the way from Qatar to check whether their daughter and I are both settled and that the environment here will favor our family set up as well as my studies.

Therefore I have been needed to orient them in all these situations; showing them around and catering for their accommodation. These circumstances have caused me to miss a number of lectures as the course is scheduled for 8:00 am throughout the semester. I have already discussed this problem with my Professor too. I am a good student and I know I want to do the best in my studies. But with this kind of situation happening at this point and time in my education I would like to be allowed to drop this unit for now so that I can take it in the following semester when it shall be offered.

I do not want to fail in this course and going by the number of classes that I have not been able to attend then this may affect my grade badly. As soon as my family is settled I will be able to embark on my studies with no further disruptions. I am aware that it is my responsibility to add and drop subjects as stated by the University policy and that submission of this letter does not guarantee any approval for my petition. Therefore it is my prayer that I will be considered for this special appeal as I was faced by extenuating circumstances that slightly altered concentration in my studies.
