The Southern United States is an area that is recognized for the southern regions of the United States of America. The states that are found in this region are those who joined the Confederacy, there are several states in the southern region that did not become a part of the Confederacy. States that are located on the far end of the southern region are recognized as the Deep South. The season experienced by these states is mostly summer and the region is much warmer than any other regions of the US.

Winter season is experienced by the states for a very limited period of time but is quite cold in nature. The combination of hot and cold weather along with the abundant quantity of rain makes the region one of the best places to conduct agricultural activities. Several states are labeled under the southern region of the United States, some of these states include Maryland, Virginia, Louisiana and 14 other states that form the overall southern regions of the US.
