Some of the entities that make up their organization are hospital, research and foundation. Each of these is vital in their effort to give hope, care and cure to patients today and tomorrow. It is a three-year-old bravely drug and substance abuse or a research team discovering a valuable cure for a disease. It is also the generous support by their community and loyal customers in providing funds and supporting their growing care, advanced clinical care, innovative research and continuing with education and patient care space needs. It is for such reasons that the Centre has been accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The management of the center has also played an integral part in improving the performance of the organization. The leadership skills of the managers is worth noting since it is such characteristics that help boost the productivity of the staff members and the organization in general. Areas of organization functioning One of the functioning of an organization is the leadership approaches that the management team employs. Transformational leadership is the best approach used by leaders to improve the performance of organizations. It entails the acquisition of power and a positive manner that in order to ensure change is brought about through the use of support and resources. This approach views the support staff allies that are necessary in bringing about change in an organization. A transformational leader is willing and able to take risks to change conventional beliefs and wisdom. They often show commitment and dedication in their endeavors and also share their belief in the vision of the organization (Hardina, 2006). These characteristics play an integral part in motivating the staff members or other stakeholders of an organization. By building a sense of community among stakeholders of an organization and sharing the vision and goals of an organization, employees are motivated since they feel they are actively involved in the operations of the organization. The transformational leader works together with these staff members to create the objectives and goals of the organization so that implementation becomes easy due to their involvement in the policy making stages. Sharing power among the participants in an organization as well as interacting with them plays a pivotal part in transforming the behavior of the leader as well as the employees. Change is necessary in transformational leadership since in helps increase the quality of service provided to consumers. It also improves the skill set of the employees, their leadership abilities, power and other resources they require to improve their quality of life. Another important function in an organization is staff recruiting and hiring. It is one of the most difficult roles of management. Recruiting employees who are skilled in their duties and possess other desirable qualities such as commitment and hard work is problematic to most managers. The staff members to be hired should be culturally and demographically diverse due to the prevailing laws on recruitment and hiring. This is essential since failure to do so may attract legal actions from possible candidates. The work forces in Creedmoor seem to have complied with this since they have a multi-cultural work force working for the organization. Given their efficiency in execution of their duties, they seem to have been well trained to undertake their responsibilities in the organization. Supervising and assessment are another area functioning in the organization. Supervision is integral in any organization since it helps keep the staff members in check. There is always the possibility of members of the organization to stray from their roles and responsibilities at the work force. Supervisors, therefore, come in handy in such situations to provide a positive guidance to the staff members so that they may focus on the client’s strength and instill good behavior and value to the staff member. To this end, Creedmoor Centre has managed to abide by this given the frequency of supervisors monitoring activities taking place in the organization. Performance evaluation is another area of functioning critical to the organization. Once recruited, employees are required to produce results. Poor performance of employees would attract disciplinary action from the managers. However, there are stipulated guidelines and employer needs to follow before taking any disciplinary action. These guidelines are meant to protect employees from abuse of such authority by the managers. Creedmoor Centre has a well stipulated performance contract that employee’s follow. Those who violate them are for disciplinary action according to the contract. Impacts of this functioning Supervision of staff helps improve services to clients. It is through supervision that an organization can be able to gauge whether the clients are receiving their services as required. It also provides an avenue where complains by clients on the staff members or organization in general can be addressed appropriately. In general, it helps to improve service delivery in the organization. Performance evaluation has several impacts on the organization. It enables the organization achieve its maximum output from its staff members since their valuation is based on their performance. On the other hand, staff members are protected from abuse of power by the management due to the prevailing laws protecting both union and non-union workers. To the executives and directors, performance evaluation gives them a guide on whether the organization is working productively. On the other hand, performance evaluation could attract legal suits to the organization if the process has not been undertaken in a transparent and lawful manner. In the long term, though, performance evaluation would increase the productivity of the organization as well as protect both the staff and organization from law suits Hiring, recruitment and training of staff has a major impact on the funding of the organization. These processes require financial support for them to be undertaken successfully. Training of staff also improves on the knowledge base of the employee and enables them to work comfortably in the organization. An effective hiring, recruitment and training process would ensure improved productivity of the organization in the long term. Financial benefits of Exemplary functioning Exemplary functioning means that an organization has met and fulfilled all the functioning areas of an organization. The financial benefits, therefore, are many and are spread in almost all of the functioning area. Good leadership, for instance, will ensure that the organization the organization is productive and thus maximize on returns from this production. The process of hiring, recruiting and training of staff members involves the use of funds. However, if the process would be carried out efficiently, the organization will be able to get the benefits through staff retention, which would minimize the expense incurred in training, and hiring new employees. Recommendations Creedmoor Addiction Treatment Centre for Substance Abuse has managed to maintain an exemplary performance in most of its functioning areas. It is, therefore, essential to maintain this level of performance so that the organization can continue to function productively. Changes in the environment are likely challenges that the organization faces. This can be mitigated through stimulating staff creativity and innovation. This will enable them to handle whatever changes the organizations undergo. Encouraging advocacy among the workers, as well as clients, would help resolve such changes. The organization can also gain political power so as to influence such changes. Organizations can anticipate and respond to environmental changes by formulating mission statements that will guide the operations of the organization. This means that the mission statement may be revised to provide a new guideline, or members may agree to re-commit themselves to the existing mission statement (Hardina, 2006). The members will then be guided through the organizations’ operations, strength and weakness as well as the external environment. This will be crucial for them when anticipating future trends and other challenges. Recommendations would then be made for the program, and several modifications made. This will provide the vision for the organization for the subsequent years and how they will be achieved. Cost benefit analysis uses figures to explore the benefits of particular actions or initiative. Many organizations use it to determine the viability of undertaking particular projects. However, there are challenges of using cost benefit analysis in forecasting. Since this method employs the use of figures to analyze situations, there is the problem of anticipating the rates of inflation. This makes it impossible for the analysts to predict these costs. Performance evaluation is done to improve the skills overall development of the employees. Most organizations, therefore, create a list of skills and abilities that professional workers should possess in order to be accepted in an organization. This is the best method of evaluating the performance since workers are able to perform tasks that they are best suited for, and the organization does not need to spend much on training the members on their duties (Hardina, 2006, pg. 211).
