The Structure of Writing - Assignment Example

Images are the building blocks of my writing because I tell a story or an image in my head with my words. These words are what my readers use to create the same image in their minds. My words should enable my readers to see in their thoughts what I see in mine.No, I do not think so. Bits may not be significant in narratives used in news reports. In relaying the news, the writing should be to the point and not be too wordy. Employing bits in news reporting would make the writing no different from a regular short story.

As with a story, poems can also be narrative in the sense that the poet tells a story but in the form of a poem. Homer’s Iliad is an example. Incorporating narrative elements such as characters, plot and setting, the poet is able to tell a story and bring characters, places and events to life with words following an appearance typical of a poem.
