The soldiers are seen in uniform holding their guns high as a sign of victory and the will power to win the battle. This may also mean that excessive power was being used as the soldiers filmed have superior weapons which are intended to be used against the Indians. Two bodies with blood stains are shown explicitly in the movie to display the level of brutally and how painful the death could have been. It brings out sheer anger to the viewer enhancing the delivery of a somber mood. The guns are shown held in the hand by one officer at close range.

Print media, including the Los Angeles Times, are quoted with strong statements as a show of outrage and provocation. The convict is not seen shooting at the two FBI agents and the court proceedings are not followed to the latter. This leaves the viewer or the audience to be the judge. Therefore the film maker’s intention is arrived at. However, it’s unethical to influence the viewer’s thinking by focusing on drawing sympathy and pity.
