Macro is a shortcut key named with a macro name; there is an embedded set of computer instructions that is linked with the shortcut key. It allows users to add shortcut keys for detailed documentation as it is often used to add detailed information or save time (Salomon, 2010). Through this, the the user can access information that is being programmed in the macro. Macro replaces lengthy combinations and saves time for the protracted series of actions. For example, if one has different menus and buttons in a particular document, then he or she can record the entire step in a single macro; this will allow accessing all the menus through one macro. The macro can also highlight a particular text or word and then use ‘macro’ to navigate it to definition or detailed information.
